Fill this out if you haven't already. I got an email from them yesterday and it had some nice potential options they could add to the game and had you rank them from most desired to least desired.
Some of the things that jumped out to me:
Class balancing (specifically melee vs caster)
build diversity
more choice in end game gearing and less BIS
modifying some skills that buff other skills or trigger other skills when used
a new a4 mercenary
act 6
things that i wasn't interested in:
meta achievement progress
shared server goals (since i'm offline)
chat and UX upgrades (again - offline)
building/crafting things in town, the example they gave were statues?
paragon style leveling

Can be used to make Runewords:

If they end up expanding on the available item pool, hopefully they do so horizontally, across treasure classes and not just a new set of BIS uniques or runewords. Act 6 would be sick though.
No paragons please... leave that for D3 and 4.
I just filled it out, too. I used the part where you can leave a free message to note that I really appreciate new content and improvements but the main focus should be on balancing and optimization for an enjoyable and motivating long time playing experience.
For the other stuff I had selected similar things as @Spectie

After a 20 year break from D2 I started playing D2R in 2024 with my sons (9 and 10 years old)
Time Zone: UTC/GMT +1/+2 (Germany)
Online workdays: casually from 07:00-09:00 pm
Online weekends: casually midday to evening
Non-Ladder | Softcore | Expansion

Didn't get anything.
Not gonna lie though, most of that list reads like "you want us to turn d2:r into d3/d4?".
I just wish they'd use their new-found appetite for "mess with D2:R" to finally do some bugfixing and optimizing.
Chat has been broken since day 1, simply not working half the time.
When you do have chat, all you see is battle tags and no characters.
If you /who to find out which is which, half of them don't show both.
Online character list suddenly turns empty, requiring a restart of the game.
Game creation fails.
Tooltips going excessively transparent/extremely low opacity with HDR.
Same for target health bars.
Game lobby info taking forever to populate so that by the time you see how old a game is and whether it is worth still joining, it already filled up anyways.
Scrolling down the game list, then searching differently and getting less than a full screen of games with the new search kills the display as the scrollbar won't show but you stay scrolled down, meaning you see 0 games despite there being a few.
Sticky targeting broken with loot shown.
And so on...
Hell, the tooltip thing should literally be like a 10 minute fix for them. They already have the fix in the game as the tooltips get correctly darkened again with large fonts on, even with HDR. Just decouple the tooltip background adjustment from the rest of the large fonts settings (as the rest does kinda suck).
And while we're at it, throw in a proper game lobby system to replace the broken-AF-anyways chaotic list as well as an "always on" setting for (filtered) loot display.
Plus online P8, obviously. Still my one biggest "I wish!".

Didn't get the email either.
I do find it curious that there's been 20 years of expertly crafted critique on D2 yet they are soliciting feedback 'net-new'? So weird. Don't get it.

I thought about telling them that there are already extensive lists with great ideas how to improve unique items etc. Many ideas looked at first great but they could really mess the game. Therefore I voted mostly for vareful minor improvements, balancing and bugfixes and then maybe completion of Act 4.ghostpos wrote: 6 hours agoDidn't get the email either.

OP
I feel like online p8 will never happen. There would be 0 reason to ever group up and I just can't see them ever doing that.
People who want to play with friends will still do so.
Beyond that, is forced grouping really worth preserving in a game that already poses little challenge going solo from a developer that actively chooses to not even fix critical chat bugs that've been around since launch, meaning you're asked to "play multiplayer without communication"?
I'd also be fine if we get proper, reliably working chat along with a (massively!) increased difficulty so that bringing 8 people actually has a point to it.
But so long as "bring 8 people" really only boils down to "1 person plays, 7 people sit there and leech", online /p8 would be far superior.
Doesn't mean I expect either one to ever happen...but I'd love if it did.
