Anyone else lost their Chronicle progress?

Offline SP. Getting somewhat exited about the new, 10-ish items I added to my Chronicle already since playing RotW. And just as I was coming to terms with restarting a new grail in the Chronicle, all of a sudden my progress is reset and my Chronicle is completely empty again. These 10-ish items I have freshly found are staring me in my face in my stash, currently not eligible for the Chronicle anymore as you only have one chance to identify and add them. They have, as it were, joined the collection of pre-owned items I was miffed about not being able to add.

Luckily (although still annoying) nothing more rare than a

Bonesnap, but heck, this actually makes me somewhat scared of playing until this is fixed. Murphy's Law probably dictates that this is the perfect time to find my

Tyrael's Might, now that the Chronicle progress only seems to last for a day.

Has anyone already tested whether items are still eligible for the Chronicle after leaving a game in SP? I might test that if I find a low rarity unique/set. If that is the case, the simple solution would just be waiting with identifying stuff.

Playing online, I haven't seen a full reset (yet?) but I did just notice that I lost a couple of items in mine that I definitely had a couple days ago.
Seems that whole system isn't all too reliable.

I found a

Civerb's Ward I was, of course, prepared to risk. Exited the game, entered again, and it was still eligible and added to the Chronicle after identifying. So for now, I just won't identify things, at least not the rare ones, until I'm sure this bug is known and fixed. A bit annoying since seeing that shiny glow and the Chronicle progressing is at least half of the fun, but better than the frustration of losing it all again.

With this new shield in my Chronicle, I hope I can check when it disappears again. I've seen reports of Chronicles resetting daily, might check after midnight if it is still there. I am pretty sure that's about when my Chronicle reset earlier. Half an hour to go here at CET.

EDIT: It was still there after midnight, also after exiting and entering, switching characters, and quitting to desktop. Not sure if something triggers it, but it's nevertheless annoying when this thing can break at any time.

That’s scary. I started a offline character myself on my Xbox and have only added one item so far into it. Playing on pc online mode right now and it shows empty. I wonder if the chronicle is separate for offline and online characters? Did they ever make it clear how the chronicle actually works?

Oh, online and offline is definitely separate. So is HC/SC, and most likely ladder/non-ladder too.

Playing offline gathered a few dozen set and double that Uniques only looked at Chronicles today to see just how pathetic restarting the entire count was going to be.
They are all there.
What I've not done is check multiple characters see if only the items a specific character found are visible only to them. Could you see if they made this character specific?
of the three rewards the only one likely to be accomplished in SP is the set chronicle (Glowing footsteps) too many zods bers and whatever to get the runewords and there are Uniques several years of play has yet to see drop you might get the one your friend can't and they get the one you never see

No, that's not the issue, they are gone for everyone.

Okay, so far the two items I've added yesterday are still there. Let's hope this was a one time thing, but it will take a while for me to trust this.

All of my offline characters are gone as well; I can’t access any of them.

Can confirm. I also lost some progress and/or had a reset somewhere.

So far everything is still there. I really hope this is shadow patched.

I lost my progress yesterday (PS5 offline). I believe it is triggered by unique/set that is dropped from weapon/armor rack and it qualifies as a new addition to chronicle. In that case the data field for "dropped by" is empty, somehow triggers severe data corruption and the game thinks it is not recoverable, thus resetting the entire database.

Sounds like a logical possibility.
Would also mean "don't join public games" as it'd be easy enough to avoid by yourself but anyone else grabbing something new off the rack would kill your progress.

Could use some specific testing to see if that's really (part of) it. At least for the full reset folks are seeing.

For the partial reset/loss of progress, it cannot be (only) that as I have personally lost a mob drop in my chronicle. Dropped off meph, got added correctly when ID'd. A couple days later it was gone. Despite other items that were found/added after it still having been there.

Still nothing related to the chronicle progress loss in blizz's known issue list though..that doesn't instill confidence.
