Really unfair comparison.
What I meant is just like when that Blizzard "abandoned" D2 classic when they launched LoD - no new items or affixes (runewords were not a thing in classic for me to rant about it).
It is basically a "fys" to whoever was expecting the loot filter/holy grail/gem or rune stacking to be implemented in D2R.
I think it is fair to Charge for a new class and a new act (not part of the package though, which greatly decreases its value). Not for quality of life implementations.
I personally think it's fair for a new class, QoL features, and additional stuff to do, even if it's not a LOT. They could have charged us $60.
[..] Which clearly indicates they've been spending more time and resources on it and will continue to do so.
Well, for now it merely says they spent time.
The "continue to do so" might end up being something for the 50 year anniversary.
Nah, if you think about it. They spent time and money on D2R, and it was merely a test to see if they could still make money from a 20 year old game. They made plenty from it, so they spent more time, which is money, to push out updates while still testing the waters to see if it would be profitable to push out actual content and plenty enough people were still playing, so they spent a little bit more money to give people something NEW. Now, how many people purchase this DLC and remain playing on the expac will determine what they do from here. They are all about their money, so they will do what makes them rich.
My biggest fear is that if this is successful, Blizzard will shove a "mandatory" new dlc every few month for that price.
Your worst fear is my fantasy. If they keep adding content i will gladly keep paying. This is by far the greatest game ive ever played and still destroys newly released games. I've been playing it for over 20 years, ive gotten thousands upon thousands of hours out of it. I'm fine with paying a lot more for how much im getting out of it.
