I'm happy that Diablo 2 and its game engine are inferior. Blizzard cannot turn Diablo 2 into a MONEY MAKING CASH COW/SCREW THE FANS MONEY MAKER/PLAY TO WIN NIGHTMARE like the pathetic Diablo 4.

I won't be paying for anything. I like diablo 2 as it is. Some may say it will improve QoL. I say, If you can not manage yourself within the current programmed limitations... The game is not for you.

As much as I'm nostalgic for D1, I don't think it could hold up as a standalone game in "current year". It would take a lot of changes to draw a player base and those changes would be big enough that it's not really D1 anymore.
The best idea I heard came from @oOKIWIOo with the idea of a dungeon entrance in the

Cathedral that lets us play through an amped up version of D1.

I made the mistake of trying to sneak in some grinding before disconnect and I did not save exit in time so it pushed me back to the character select screen and I lost three levels and a couple unidentified charms that I absolutely know were pcomb + 45 life and 3-20-20.
