Are you sure the
Voulge
was dropped in your nightmare game? Max sockets on a
Voulge
should be 4 starting with ilvl 26 and all area levels in nightmare are 36+. So it shouldn't be possible to get a
Voulge
in nightmare and then getting only 3 sockets from
Larzuk
.

Just to be clear it doesn't matter if you use
Larzuk
in normal, nightmare or hell. It only matters where you found the item you want to socket.

This is not a bug. A
Voulge
that drops in nightmare or hell will always roll 4 sockets from
Larzuk
(regardless of which difficulty the quest reward is used on), unless it dropped as low quality and was “repaired” to normal quality with the cube. If it dropped on normal difficulty it depends on the exact area it dropped.

Which difficulty did the
Voulge
drop in?

I'm in CET (Central European Time), so that's UTC+1 normally and UTC+2 during DST.
