Memory Base

Hi and ho ho ho,

I am trying to get a good Memory base, stave of course, but finding one might take forever. So maybe someone here knows:

1. where to farm? Norm or nightmare?
2. Which vendor might sell non-magic base with +es?

The best place to farm bases is typically cow level. You can farm normal cows, but the chance of spawning a tier 5 (req level 24) skill is much higher if the monsters are level 37+. So nightmare cows is probably better.

None. Normally, only vendors in act 1 normal and act 2 normal sell non-magic items, and the ilvl cap for act 2 normal is 20. To be able to spawn

Energy Shield on a staff, it needs at least ilvl 25.

EDIT: Correction - it may technically possible to show base staves with

Energy Shield. You need to be exactly level 19 - you should be able to shop it from act 3, 4 or 5 on normal if you're level 19. It won't be possible to find one with 4 sockets, you need to look for ones without sockets.

Actually, I'm not sure it's possible to shop the

Energy Shield staves after all. Like I mentioned, the staff needs to be ilvl 25 to be able to spawn

Energy Shield, but at ilvl 25 (character level 20) vendors will only sell magic items. They only sell non-magic items at ilvl 24 and lower (character level 19 and lower).

Maybe someone else can confirm this.

why would you want a staff instead of 1handed mage weapon+Spirit shield?? gets you more damage/+skills than just Memory lol.

Yeah, it's a pre-buff item. If you put Memory in a staff with +3 to

Energy Shield, the staff will yield in total +9 to

Energy Shield. It's quite a substantial boost, and also makes it much more manageable to reach level 40

Energy Shield (the max).

You either have it on swap permanently (instead of Call To Arms), or take it out of stash/cube when needed to recast

Energy Shield (at level 40 it will last 18 minutes, so you typically only need to do this once per game, unless it expires due to running out of mana).

Exactly, thats the idea behind this. So i guess farming nm cows will be the next task. Thx for the input, to bad the vendor idea will not work...
Lets see which one i will find/make first: the stave or a decent caster amu

I use https://dropcalc.silospen.com/ for literally everything drop related, really helps narrow down areas to farm, and gives you probability numbers so if, like me, you get 30 runs in and convince yourself the 1:2000+ chance to drop is accurate, you end up trading for it instead
