I v seen a lot of videos of ppl searching for runes in LK that first thing tp to Travincal then they go back, why is that ?
i m trying to get a Lo and i m cubing up at the same time ( i v reached a Gul so far ) but is very time consuming cubing up any suggestions ?

not recommend to use cube to lv up runes,
If you can trade runes with others. ( Some challenge insist no trade, then it is another thing, usually world record is unbreakable.)
Usually 8 Ist can guarantee you get Lo in exchange, I havent check Lo for long time but this should work.
I dont know why people port to trav, it could be script or bot behavior. From youtube, I havent see any have that behavior.
Also, some mid runes can exchange to Lo, like Lem/ Pul/ Um or even massive Ko/ Fal (soso-fair rate)

Favor Perfect Amethyst over Perfect Skull...
These days, I don't need that much Perfect Skull, it is less encourage to pay in Perfect Skull but it will treat slightly better than Perfect Gems.

You can check this guide for high rune farming:
https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo2/commen ... ing_guide/
tl;dr
Lower Kurast super chest farming is one of the best ways to find high runes in single player where you can (1) control player count with /players X, and (2) maps are saved between games so you don’t need to search for the chest(s). Online it’s not as good unless you can consistently find/make games with at least a couple other players in them, but you still need to find the chest(s) each time since maps are random every game.
Online it might be more efficient to farm in other areas. See the guide for a good breakdown and more details. Also, I should mention that the guide was written before Terror Zones were added to the game, not sure if anyone made an equivalent guide with that in mind too.
No idea though why anyone would go Travincal first, unless you mean that they actually kill/hork the council - council members in Travincal is also one of the better ways to find high runes.

By looking at the profile, I would guess it's related to Single player.

Also do you suggest using a lot of MF while looking for runes in LK ??
no, 0 mf for rune , it is different system unless you are looking for unique
play online, Lo in single player without cheat is extremely difficult. (I only find likely 4 in long run)

2 things to know:
1. mf does not effect rune drops.
2. mf has no effect on super chests.
That means you can have any amount of mf unless it slows down your runs.
Even in LK runs, more mf will benefit you for the non-rune non-super-chest drops but since you usually avoid those to maximize efficiency, mf is considered a waste.

LK super chest runs can be very annoying, especially when you do them for almost 3 days straight on p7, and dont get any rune above Pul.
But, then you have these crazy days/nights.
Had one a few days ago. It started with an Ohm rune from a random Skeleton. Few runs later, another one from a super chest, followed by an Ist + a Mal about 5 and 7 runs later. Then for like 3-4 hours nothing, only some uniques/set items for the holy grail.
I couldnt believe my eyes then: A Ber dropped from the super chest. Not even 10 runs later another Ber, from a random lootable object on the way to the super chest. That was nice, probably the most rune value i found in a 10 hour session ever.
And now, i cant find an Eth (4os) elite polearm xD
Infinity was never this close but still so far away
Since then, highest rune i found was a Ko, RNG at its best
when i find nother Ber or another Ist, and i can do Chains of Honor and my first Call To Arms, additional to the Infinity. So far i didnt used any of those runes yet.
Teleport first to trav: some do that, because they think they might get better loot. Depending on the map seed, thats true.
But i'm not so far into that kind of shenanigans, and i play on Nintendo switch, not PC, so i couldnt even do that:)

the tp to trav is probably based on a set seed. You need to go to trav first and then run around LK in a certain way to trigger the rune drop. This only works on a particular seed
Went through two seasons running LK when going through travi & meph, found absolutely nothing.
I was told at these forums that LK is mostly for singleplayer offline gameplay where you can lock in a good map and get those through fast in /players 8.
If youre running them through /players 1 online, you most likely get nothing whole season as I have proven for few times now.

This is not true. You dont need to run certain way in order to trigger rune drop. The drop is rolled when you open the chest, doing anything before that makes no difference. The particular seed is because of the positioning of the camp(s) and portal.FD2R wrote: 3 weeks agothe tp to trav is probably based on a set seed. For offline p7 LK super chest running, I highly recommend you extract game files for faster load times and that you install a “loot filter” mod that puts a glowing pillar of light over mid and high runes. It’s been a while since I installed my loot filter and extracted game files, but I think it needs to be in that order. Installing the loot filter with D2RMM was simple enough, the complication for me was getting it working with extracted game files.
Anyway, the game can’t support true loot filters where trash items are completely hidden- the game requires all items on the Ground to display some text, and there’s still a limit of 32 items that can be displayed at any one time, but the QoL improvement is MASSIVE with having “SUPER HE ALING POTION” replaced with “+HP”, “SC ROLL OF IDENTIFY” replaced with “-ID”, etc. and mid/high runes getting a massive pillar of light. Default item names are so freaking long-winded that sometimes the game can’t even display all 32 items before the text starts running off screen, so the loot filter also eliminates that issue.

I wish console had a loot filter.

ok so i misspoke, its not about running per se, but interactions will determine the drop.Semirotta wrote: 3 weeks agoWent through two seasons running LK when going through travi & meph, found absolutely nothing.

I'd avoid cubing runes at or above Lem, unless you really need the very next rune and don't mind wasting a couple. Those are too valuable and hard to find! There are exceptions, such as cubing 2 Sur for a Ber. Cubing up to a Lo sounds wasteful though.
Usually looking for Runes, Essences, PGems, Tokens, Keys, etc.

This does only apply to singleplayer. I dont play singleplayer as its the same as just cheating away. Can put players to 8 with just one player is a big cheat imo xD and you can just edit characters with editors if you get bored so meh for me.FD2R wrote: 3 weeks agook so i misspoke, its not about running per se, but interactions will determine the drop.Semirotta wrote: 3 weeks agoWent through two seasons running LK when going through travi & meph, found absolutely nothing.

Well it’s not a true loot filter per se, since it can’t entirely hide anything, but it’s almost as good as one. I imagine there’s a technical limitation that makes it non-trivial to implement this mod as an optional setting. The d2r “loot filter” operates by modifying the display text of items on the Ground, and the game most likely only supports a single string value for Ground text. So there would probably have to be a lot of code changes to make it support multiple different Ground texts selectable by an in-game option. Maybe they could make it something you can select but then have to restart the game to take effect.
This explains it pretty well.
