Why? :-O 93 is much more better than 85, isn't it? Or it is again a joke I do not understand? (yes, it happens quite often)

I think it is because at that level the XP gain between TZ and non-TZ is almost null, so you should not have any reason to do
Baal
in TZ. :)

And I think it was a joke indeed.

Hmm, not such a loss in theory : normally you open portals one per one, not all 3 at the same time (or why would you do that) so should "only" lose 1 set ? Still unpleasant, grant you, but less impacting ?

If you have extra organs, just recollect a 3x3 and hope being lucky enough to get missing ones first next time you go for Ubers !

i open all 3 at the same time so it's easier to carry my martial arts charges from one to the next. just tp back into town and then go into the next portal.

next time though i'll make a password lobby game instead of a non lobby game in case this happens i can try to get back in lol.

Did you try to join back?

1, I never open all 3 portals at once, even if people say it is stupid doing it in this way. There is no reason to open them all at once, important is open them in the one game - so I know even if game would crash I will never loose
3x3 Keyset

2, I was always able to connect back to the game, does not matter how did it crash (complete, or I was only disconnected), few times it was after x minutes, not immediately.. if you did not try, you should next time.

Ach, next time I will read before answering :-D But you made my day - I was feeling like a paranoid fool, because all my friends are opening all 3 portals at once! I am so glad I am not alone, thanks <3

Nope, the only reason I see for opening all 3 together is indeed for the Mosaic sin to not take a few precious charges seconds to open next portal... but more risky for your keys indeed !

A game crash does happen but not that often unless your PC or internet connection is a contributing factor. It did happen to me once, but only after I had already completed two of the three runs, and I've done hundreds of Ubers.

I always open three portals at once because to open one at a time could result in the same portal opening several times in a row, which means you're going to need a lot of keys to obtain multiple organ sets. Here are some steps that might make you feel a bit more relaxed. 1. Go to lobby to make a password protected game, but before making the game use your intended name and password and login to the game. There won't be game with that name and password but this way your game name and password will already entered in case you die or get tossed back to lobby. 3. Use the same name and password you just tried to logon with and make the game. Open all three portals and grab your organs.

honestly i think my game crashed as a result of Mosaic particle effect overload. i've heard of it happening if you have too many meteors drop.

I wasn't using
Meteor
but as soon as i started blowing up
Izual
with all my charges game just froze, then the window closed, which i haven't had happen before but who knows.

Check if you need to have windows update restart done.
I've noticed with W11, that several games can become laggy and crashy if you're not 100% up to date with windows updates and restarts.

Oh, and in addition, if W11 is using up all RAM as paging Memory, D2 is one of the software that can become messed up from it.
So yeah, 2 possible causes and both are directly caused by Windows...

Complete agree.
That's a terrible OS which need to be restarted frequently because performances are decreasing with the passing of time.

The "odd number" Windows version curse.

Totally agreed.
Vista and 8 sucked laughably while 7 was functional and reasonably ok.
Though i might argue that both 10 and 11 are subpar, so nearly a perfect strike, 2 in a row there.

But still, mostly every other.

The initial release of -95, the ones without any little a, b or c after the 95, was hilariously bad and the a/b/c version(s) are to some extent literally rewrites of large parts of the code, with "a" making it work mostly as intended and then adding the less vital fixes needed in the b and c updates.

Then came the utter disaster that was W-98. For some incredibly impossible reason, someone thought it was a great idea to do a remake of the worst parts of the original 95 code, try to put it back into the OS and then have a few hundred outsource programmers almost randomly contribute code without the slightest rules or regulations or sanity. And apparently not a single check for compatibility between the core code and the outsourced parts, or between the outsourced parts.
Ok, i am exaggerating, but sadly, not THAT much.

98SE was essentially a total rewrite, everything was put back together properly(almost, mostly). Worked well but was hampered by partially artificial and partially very real limits on RAM size and some other hardware issues.

Win ME then has the interesting uniqueness of being at the same time possibly both the absolute worst Windows ever, and the best.
If you managed to get a solid install with it, it was amazingly wellbehaved and reliable, easy to work with and good functionality.
The problem was, 9 times out of 10, getting that solid install was a pie in the sky aspiration of sheer futility and wishful thinking.
The slightest mistake or not having the right drivers and files instantly available during install and you were screwed without question, and the install just randomly went nuts at least a third of the time and, well, noone had a clue what caused the problems the rest of the time.

Then comes XP, they basically took the best parts of ME, rewrote the rest, removed all the underlying and internal DOS parts that made ME work so well when you did have a good install(and caused nearly all the problems when you didn't), and since the rewrites were based on the highly successful and extremely functional, but not so easy to work with Windows NT, when they squished those together, getting the reliability and functionality of NT, and the ease of use from ME, they overall succeeded in creating a very good OS.

Eh yes, i did some work as tech support in the 90s and 00s, i'm sure it's not that obvious right?
