Hi.
It takes a while, although I can't say how many runs. Maybe two hours, give or take, for a Mal rune, but it always depends on the map seed.
To speed up the process, farm on /players7, and wear as little mf as possible.
Also, look for the following structure, with a bonfire in the middle: There are two chests and armour rack in one of them, and a single chest and weapon rack in the other. These chests have the best chances of high runes.

Rune drops wont be changed by you MF, so don't worry about that. But yeah, as above, open the chests in the huts neat the fire (the ones with no yellow door on the map) and play on a high player count.
It's going to take time. Drops in d2 don't come quickly.

LK Runs are only effective for offline players, where you can find a perfect seed map (both campfires right next to the way point). Once the right seed map is found you can do LK runs in about 10 seconds. Online its not worth it, the runs take too long.
Side Note: highest rune that can drop from an LK superchest is a Ber.

Trades that are for Vex or less, I'm willing to accept other forms of currency. Like Tokens, Keys, Perfect Gems, and certain minor runes.
Trades that are for more than Vex, I'm willing to accept combinations of medium runes. Like 2x Lo for a Jah.

Usecases for bnet:
- Startpoint of terrorized Flayer Jungle or Upper Kurast / Temples
- Before Meph or Travinval runs
- Pop chests while waiting in baalruns for TP
- "i tz u mf-xx" games

I don't think your response is what OP was asking about. I meant what I said. "LK Runs" in the context of OPs question - loading into a game, running LK, exiting, and repeat. Running only LK over and over again isn't worth it for bnet. Squeezing LK runs in with other activities is completely viable. But unless I'm understanding OP wrong, is not the scenario he is referring to.

Like Knappogue, I find online LK runs to be largely an ineffective use of time. Travincal on the other hand "just up the street" can be quite rewarding. The Travincal council members are a Concentration of super-unique monsters and it can be cleared in under 2 minutes. I've had several Jah and at least 3 Sojs drop along with several tradable items. The Travincal Council members have a treasure class (TC) of 87 (correction TC is 78} in Hell difficulty, which means they can drop almost anything the game has to offer.
Please post offer in item trade before adding me on Bnet, and no please no direct messages with offers. I'm in EST time zone. (E Coast U.S)
Actually Travincal is alvl 82 in hell and the three superuniques has Qlvl 85 and TC 78 in hell. In Travincal is not possible to drop item Qlvl 87 and items TC 87. Unless is terrorized with clvl at least 85. Lower Kurast is alvl 80 in hell and cannot be terrorized.mhlg wrote: 3 weeks agoLike Knappogue, I find online LK runs to be largely an ineffective use of time. The TC is 78, I somehow flipped the 78 which isn't uncommon for me, especially with my new keyboard.Alexandre_Souza wrote: 3 weeks agoActually Travincal is alvl 82 in hell and the three superuniques has Qlvl 85 and TC 78 in hell. If you eventually come across a pack of champions in Travincal (mlvl 84) or uniques (mlvl 85), they can drop items up to TC 84.mhlg wrote: 3 weeks agoThe TC is 78, I somehow flipped the 78 which isn't uncommon for me, especially with my new keyboard.Alexandre_Souza wrote: 3 weeks agoActually Travincal is alvl 82 in hell and the three superuniques has Qlvl 85 and TC 78 in hell. I've been running LK for about three months, now. I am offline and I am trying to get my Enigma to open up CS, WSK and others for all my classes. Sorc and Telekinesis are the best for the runs. TK can open chests from a distance so if a chest is swarmed by monsters, it's not a big deal. You can even grab gold and potions with it.
So, after all this, here are my two cents:
1) If you are online, you won't have a good time. The area can spawn as fairly large and you're wasting time looking for the chests. Offline, a LK run lasts about 20 seconds. So, look for other farming spots if runes is what you are after, like Cows.
2) LK doesn't have one but two campfires. If you manage to roll a good map, camp there.
3) LK runs primarily net you skillers, jewels and runes.
It's the fastest way to earn skillers offline, believe me. Rerolling with gems is extremely slow because you have to actually scan for the gems every time you open a chest. AND you need a correctly leveled charm for this. On the other hand, LK skillers can roll with life affixes.
Jewels drop VERY often. All kinds except facets. Fervor jewels drop at least once every session. This also helps you with crafting.
Runes are . . . tricky. More than any other type of loot you get in LK, they're inconsistent. Hours can go by without anything dropping but that's D2 in a nutshell. The Key is persistence. The drops WILL come. On average and by farming for about 6 hrs on the weekends, a high rune can drop once every three weeks.
You cannot get a higher rune than Ber over here but don't go in hunting it from the get go. The majority of the runes that will drop will be mid tier, meaning Lum to Gul. So if you want a specific runeword, you will have to cube HUNDREDS of runes to get there.
5) Speed is of the essence. Don't pick up any keys, simply buy 4 dozens of them. Clickables like stashes and corpses and branches shouldn't be ignored.
In total, after running LK since February, this is what I ended up with:
21 Ko, 15 Fal, 14 Lem, 6 Pul, 4 Um, 4 Mal, 2 Ist, 5 Gul, I Ohm, 2 Sur, 1 Ber. I also managed to make Hoto and CtA.
Several skillers, more than 20, for all classes. Some rolled with life, other not, others with other affixes.
About 25 Jewels of Fervor. Some of them rolled with additional stats.
All in all, the Key is to persist. There will be days where you won't score anything. Don't let that stop you, keep at it and the drops will come.
