Planning to build a Maul fire claw bear with arma support. Thought of using double Phoenix. Problem is, Phase Blade has low phys damage. Though about Berserker Axe for a base.
Will the repairs be un*bear*able?
Will the damage output be too low?
Maybe just ditch Maul and go 100% fire?
Maybe just better use a Decapitator Phoenix and call it a day?

Can be used to make Runewords:
Fire claw bear NEEDS Maul: Skill to shine and by going bear you are saying: "I want to deal both physical and fire damage, to be a hybrid damage dealer and have some leeching capabilities"
If you are going with 100% fire, train a Fire Claws Werewolf and equip double Phoenix. Spend the extra skill points on Armageddon (12 seconds is fine).
Fire claw bear wants a Grief+Phoenix to maximize the physical and fire potential or go with Death 2-handed axe to capitalize on your +%dmg from Werebear and Maul: Skill.

I totally forgot who made this build, but this is most likely what I'm going to try for my future Druid soon:

Credit to who posted this, unfortunately, I can't recall who it was. I feel that a pure caster Druid probably isn't that great, so either wolf or bear. I'm a big fan of the 4-5-socket Decapitator for various rune words.

Wasn't better to maximize Molten Boulder (for more Fire Claws damage) instead os spend points on Oak Sage?

There is a pretty good chance repairs will indeed be un*bear*able?or.houster wrote: 5 months ago Planning to build a Maul fire claw bear with arma support. Thought of using double Phoenix. Problem is, Phase Blade has low phys damage. Though about Berserker Axe for a base.

I haven't tested this exact build, but for my Frenzy-barb i tried dual Grief Berserker Axe. Since he could reach max breakpoints anyway I thought some variation on the weapon could be fun, and as a bonus the zerker- Axe has a better rangeadder. I relatively quickly swapped to phaseblade cause the repairs was a freekin' nightmare by my standards.
It could work better with a build that has slower attacks, and more damage per swing, then a Frenzy-build ... but I'm skeptical.
I'd definietly consider ditching Maul and go 100% fire. I had a lot of fun with that build (as wolf).
I passed by this problem with my Obedience Great Poleaxe... now I try to only use Indestructible or self repair weapons as "end game" weapons (with "attack builds")
With the added bonus that those weapons can be Ethereal
FYI: I replaced the Obedience with a Ethereal Decapitator Death (character is a Fury Druid)

I went with this and he was obliterating everything in his path... Even tho I mostly play on p1 I experienced absolutely no problem at all and actually had a lot of fun with that build in general throughout the whole game.

Someone much smarter than me already said once: "The real value of something doesn't reflect in a number of how much a seller can ask for it, but on how much a buyer is willing to pay."
