Description

So I'm going to try and take on
Diablo Clone
with my summoning necro. My plan was to spawn him in
Rakanishu
, get some urdars from act 3 and then head back, but a friend of mine mentioned moving between acts might despawn him. Any thoughts?

Can be used to make Runewords:

It won't. Once you spawn him, he stays there until killed or the game closes, no matter where else you go.

Though if you don't first spawn him where you want him and then run into a super unique on your way to get revives or whatever, he will spawn there instead.

He does on occasion run away surprisingly far though which might be how the idea of him despawning came up.

+1 to what Schnorki says, every time I kill him (usually at Eldritch's, but before I was in act V I used
Rakanishu
as well) I pop him up, then rush to
River of Flame
/ Durance of Hate / Palace Cellar to have at least 10 Urdars/Maulers/
Blunderbore
and come back to him.

Sometimes needed to do that twice or thrice when I was (and my merc was) lower level, but Amp Damage + occasional
Poison Nova
+ rejuv potion for merc works perfectly fine.

Try Malice if you want OW for your merc.

Nothing. I cast a
Poison Nova
every 10 seconds to provide regen.
Most of the job is done by my might merc (Insight in
Eth
elite / Andy visage / Fortitude, but worked already with Treachery even if harder) and Urdars..
I amp, recast amp, bc/bo from cta and alternate
Nova
and Bone Spears (mainly Bone necro here), but I am more in support here.
Clay Golem
also precious to tank and slow.

Insight has some Poison damage so I guess this works as well.

Works the same for Ubers by the way with a buddy pally and the urdars doing the job.

I believe you can even use
Fire Wall
to counter the regen, in case you're wearing some Trang-Oul pieces.

I don't know why I figured you were also a summoner from the previous post.
I also relied on my might merc with Obedience, so I don't want to give up on his crushing blow with Insight. I'll try switching his Treachery with Duress and hope I can fill him up with rejuv pots quick enough

I actually do and that will be awesome. I'll have to look into that.

I am mainly Bone but I use summoning tree as a giant one point wonder. With the + skills I can have 15-ish revives, 6 skells and 6 mages which tank and occasionnally hurt like here.

For pots, you know the command shift + potion
Key
to give to merc ?
That's a life saver against DClone, usually need between 1 and 8 full rejuv against him (depending on how he focuses Azrael).

Also if you have a way to
Teleport
(ideally Enigma) telestomping on DClone to start the fight helps to get all Urdars hitting together and with Amp on top he doesn't like it. Just manually walk a bit further after.
