Description

Energy Shield
reduces the effect of "damage goes to mana", because only the remaining damage left after the reduction by
Energy Shield
goes to mana.

Is it the same with
Thorns
?

Ignoring the part where
Thorns
is generally terrible at best, yes, it is the same.

The % return is based on the final physical damage you take, meaning it is reduced by any reduction effects. If you combine ES with enough -dmg to take no damage, you also return no damage as a result.

In normal it works fine. I just finished normal with a act 1 merc using Edge. But next I will have to replace it with Insight.
