This seems like a stupid question. I assume updates would be automatic when using the Battle.net launcher. But for one thing, my D2R is crashing a lot as of today, even when playing without any mods. Also when using mods I actually only use a single mod, which just displays the item levels.
When the title screen comes up is says 1.1.67554. In an Offline or Online game is says v 1.15.0.67554. Also, any time I exit a game it crashes. Shouldn't I be on at least 2.3 at this point?

You're on the latest version. If you weren't, you couldn't even connect.
The 2.3/2.4/.. numbering is generally not the same as your client build version (the 1.1.67554 currently), that's normal.
