Wild effective skill synergy from base item -- Shadow Master w/ Diadem

From the Arreat Summit, these are the items at each level for Shadow Master. The rare Helm is "same type as Assassin". Does this make rare +skills diadems very good for PvP Assassins? I found such a thing earlier today (pic below).

Any other skills have weird synergy like this with caster's worn base item type affecting it?

I'm not quite sure what you mean here. Are you under the impression your Shadow Master will spawn with your exact Helmet? because it only means the Shadow Master gets the item type, not any of the affixes.

The affixes rolled everytime you summon your SM is different on all of their gear and also no way of knowing what they are. I honestly wish they added this as a QoL feature, be able to inspect the SM. lol.

But yes +skill diadems in general can be the best-in-slot for all assassin types, or all classes/builds for that matter. A +skill Diadem with FCR, All resistances & Magic Find is worth A LOT. Stats like Energy and Vitality are nice but people mostly care about the skills, fcr, all res and MF. (yes FCR even for the trapsin, for Enigma teleporting)

Yeah most sins are traps generally, especially now for MF. But I could see making a nice Ubers sin that could use this. Socket with Cham to free up ring slot.

Rare Diadem is the only non-class Helm in the game to allow +2 skills with dual leech. So this rolled 2 from perfect ML, 1 from perfect LL. The energy…not incredibly valuable but in this case it’s a perfect 20, so clearly style points. Def is also kind of for style points, since it’s just a clean looking set of mods with def being the pointless but still “ok sure” one.

Anyway I’m pumped about this find, and the rare shadow skills ammy that dropped today too…good day.

Ubers sin does not need IAS or res from Helm due to BoS and Fade!
