My honest answer? just play and enjoy the game. Buy the low lying fruit that will enhance your build - it sounds counter-intuitive to be spending puls and lems when you're trying to save up, but the reality is all the saving on low-mid runes will take an inordinate amount of time. By comparison, playing and enjoying your gradually progressing character until something like

Ohm or

Sur drops - that's far more enjoyable.
