Ok so I see this Flamebellow thing that can give +21 to Inferno, and the barb can duel wield. So that’s cool… and he can use a sunder charm… cool.

Oh barbs can’t get Fire Mastery… damn, well maybe with everything else it might still be good.

You can wear Ormus’ robes with +3 Inferno and +15% fire damage, Flickering Flame in an appropriate barb Helm, maras, sojs, arachs, Magefist, anni and Battle Command ( Inferno level 56!!!)

Now you can also facet them, giving a total non skill +30% fire skill damage.

Also your merc can use Infinity, you’ve got your facets, and can either use a charged Wand of Lower Resist or maybe dual plagues on swap… giving you -58% en fire resistance on a previously immune monster (all others should be much further into the negatives if not -100), leaving them at 37 resist.

So what’s the damage? Level 56=693-725, +30%=900-942, now if the monster was immune they get their resistance and so take 567-593 fire damage…

Anyone know if that’s per second? Or little flame thingy?

The barb could then maybe focus on singing? Or idk ww?

Could this be a thing? Anyone ever try it out?

Thx

Could be interesting! I might build this in Hero Editor later and play around with it.

I wonder, inasmuch as we're not using Enigma for this build and FCR doesn't do as much, if a 4os Jeweler's armor might be better than Ormus' Robes?

Ormus with a facet gives +3 skill, +20% fire damage and -5% enemy res.

A jewelers armor with 4 facets would give +20% damage and -20% enemy res + however much health.

Going from Inferno 53 to 56 only gives +43 average dps without synergies. Meanwhile -15% res can be 15% more damage or better depending on the target. And then you also can get the extra life from the jeweler's piece.

Given the Flickering Flame and Infinity and 2 facets in the weapons already in use, we're starting this concept with 85+15+10 = -110% enemy resistance versus non-immunes and 17 + 15 + 10 versus immunes for -42%. Using faceted Ormus moves these numbers to -115% and -47% respectively. Using faceted Jeweler's piece moves them to -130% and -62%. Going from -42% to -62% is a big difference versus immunes, which are plentiful in the game. -42% = 53% resist, where -62% = 33% resist.

Now slap a level 3 lower res Wand for -41% against non-immunes and -8% for immunes or Plague on or whatever and we're really getting somewhere.

By which I mean versus immunes we'll be facing them at 25% resistance and doing 500dps..... which is still pretty tragic, but.... IDK. Versus non-immunes that would be as high as 1332 dps, which is still tragic, but not as bad for sure.

Of course, I'm also ignoring the price factor for now, but that's neither here nor there, since that would sink the build completely anyway.

Spoiler alert:
It'll suck. Sorry.

First off, an Inferno Ormus doesn't work for you here as the skill on Ormus is sorc only. As such, you're better off with a 4-facet armor.
Also, since you don't have Fire Mastery at all, %dmg outscales +skill, making a 3-facet head better than flickering.

When all is said and done, you're looking at around a lvl 50 Inferno with +45% dmg or right around 1k dmg on it.
As far as Inferno goes, that's pretty bad.

The thing is..even on a fire sorc - who can get a "good" Inferno - Inferno is just bad. The concept of a flamethrower barb could be cute but in terms of performance, Inferno is just inherently too damn bad to really do anything with.

That's not to say you can't clear stuff. But it'll basically be in slow-motion so just don't expect anything actually good.
