mf on a druid zookeeper

Yep.

you current mf / Gold find is used when Minions do a kill.

When your Merc does the kill, the game uses your mf / Gold find plus his own.

I had a simliar question when I came here the first time I asked if the minions get my MF when I cast them or dynamically.

mf and Gold are dynamic. It is not snapshotted when you summon a Minion (unlike skill level)

So you can swap to a MF/ Gold gear and wait for Merc/Minion do the kills

Most likely, because zookeepers tend to move slower, you're also probably killing monsters slower than with a more powerful build, so you're getting fewer "rolls of the die" because of that.
It's why while i used summoning to level, but now that my zookeeper is level 50, either now or soon, i'm going to respec him, most likely to a Wind druid(want to try playing with that Earth Shifter).

Summoner Druid is one of the weakest builds (but not THE weakest) and only suitable for solo gaming or levelling up. Don't try 8-player cowruns.

But... I love my Zookeeper. My build plays itself, it's so chilled. Can fight anywhere and is extremely durable. Level 94 now and found some good stuff with him (~200 mf).

What's your gear?

Hm, haven´t played mine for a while (mine is 95). But I remember doing 6-8 player Trav runs with him and I killed a bunch of DClones, too.
Surely the killspeed is "decent", but as you said: you can kill almost everything (even Ubers if you are not in a hurry ) and you easily get a good amount of mf (I have ~300)

casual ladder so not much...
2 Spirit Jalal's Mane Goldwrap skuldier's ire random rares....

Okay, no wonder.

Zookeeper needs some expensive items to shine. In fact, you need three things: skills, skills and skills. Get as many skillers as you can wear, they are cheap, even in ladder. As soon as your minions hit level 40+, they start rocking.

Most important is your merc.

There's two routes for the merc:

-The boss killing route. Get Decrepify/crushing blow/ Static Field on your merc: Wrath, Lawbringer, Crescent Moon, Last Wish, Kingslayer or The Reaper's Toll. DON'T go for Pride runeword. It sucks.

-The mass killing route. Get act 1 merc with a Mist Grand Matron Bow or act 3 lightning merc ( Crescent Moon, Griffons, eth Spirit, Viperskin).

I tried all merc variants, and the best for solo farming is the act 1 Cold Arrow rogue with Mist/Hustle/Delirium a.k.a. Manic Pixie Dreamgirl: You get a Concentration aura (comparable to a might mercs' aura). You get a high speed RANGED ATTACK with 100% Pierce (!) dealing 2k-3k damage per shot, plus 1k cold damage. This is enough to MELT hordes of enemies in a few shots! Faster than any other merc out there. You get Confuse, which is a game breaker. You can kill physical immunes with no effort, since the most common and annoying ones are wraiths, which have low life and no cold resist! The rogue doesn't need life steal, because she effectively stays out of range and you have huge crowd control with freeze, blind, Shock Wave and confusion. Throw a life potion if in danger.

Last but not least: You get a very high Inner Sight debuff (-2k defense!), which rises effective chance to hit to a whopping 95% for all your minions, including yourself: put 1 point to werewolf/werebear/lyca/maul/shock wave and you can join the fight. Use two weapon sets: One for summoning and one for fighting. Choose a fast weapon with some crushing blow, add Gore Rider/ Goblin Toe and you are set. Just run ahead, shock all baddies, wait for Inner Sight to proc, and start mauling key enemies like uniques, cold immunes or mages.

My gear is:
Jalals with a 15 IAS/30% ED jewel (I didn't want to invest a 15/40, would be wasted)
+3 summon amulet with some mf
Beast Berserker Axe ( Fanaticism, Werebear skills, crushing blow, open wounds, high IAS) -> perfect for killing monsters with big life pool, for example Diablo Clone!
Spirit Monarch
Bul-Kathos' Wedding Band
Rare ring with FCR and resists
Arachnid Mesh
Enigma
Gore Rider or War Traveler
Either Chance Gloves for mf or rare 20% IAS gloves, depending on my mood.

Hoto and Spirit on swap

Skills: All minions including ravens (!) maxed. Max HotW last. 1 point into: Carrion Vine, Werewolf, Lycanthropy, Werebear, Maul: Skill, Shock Wave.

I've given name to one build myself... Back from a teamgame with as close to 8 paladins together as schedules could manage each week.
Everyone had maxed Charge. Most had maxed Charge synergies. And then different auras. Amazing how fast things gets cleared when you have all those auras on maxed combined with a very high damage attack skill.

My build was the primary for dealing with phys immune.

With Holy Shock, Fist of heavens and Charge maxed out, with a few points in Zeal and then points to synergies.

So, what was the above build called?

Fister builds have been a thing since original LOD, just not as popular as hammers and smiters.

Some usual builds with funky names I want to try out are:

Riftsin (Kicker sin with Rift).
Singer barb (Warcry only barb).
SpearZon (with Passion for +1 Zeal and +1 Berserk).
PassiveZon/DodgeZon (any ama build with maxed Valk, high Dodge/ Evade and minions).
Poison Sniper (Sin build w/ Venom + Widowmaker or good ITD/high AR ranged weapons).

The only "weird" build I currently have is a 85 Enchantress Sorc (Sniper), with Demon Machine / Widowmaker + she is duel spec in lightning (Hybrid build), so she has Chain Lightning + synergies to use on fire immunes.

Dream-Thunderstrike-Sorceress: Works like a Dream, but boring to play. Too weak for P3+.

What is the Mage-Zon? Is that a frost-maiden ( Cold Arrow) or fire/explode arrow zon?
Also, I run Occy and Spirit on off-hand for my enchantress, she can handle P3, but P5 and above is pushing it for her. I agree, enchanter + demon mach xbow is fun against non-fire immunes, Teleport + shoot rinse and repeat haha! She also does 2K lightning with chain for the odd fire immunes if I really want to kill them.

Also thought of another "weird" build, the Tank-barb.

Basically will be a Barb that wears Phys Damage reduced % gear like Vampire Gaze, Leviathan, String of Ears, maxed resists, but should probably wield a Grief or a good Ether RW to have some decent damage output not getting ED% or +dmg from any armor pieces.

Raven Claw, then Kuko Shakaku together with Enchant sorc or even better, Holy Fire paladin are utterly amazingly good at early levelling.
Great way to quickly get yourself the socketing quest with a new character if you're playing on your own.

My understanding was that it is an Amazon with 2 different element attacks.
Fire( Exploding Arrow), cold( Freezing Arrow), poison(Poison/ Plague Javelin) or lightning( Charged Strike/ Lightning Fury/ Lightning Strike).

I've also seen it refer to a zon that has lots of points in the P&M tree, with high levels in Inner Sight, Slow Missiles, Decoy and Valk.

Have you ever played a Titan barb?
It's basically like the barb version of the amazon glass cannon build(where you put almost everything in Dex to maximize bow damage).

You're basically putting almost everything in Strength.
Absolutely not for hardcore, but the one time i tried it out, i was extremely surprised by how functional it was.
As you tend to Scythe through monsters very rapidly.

If you want maximum tankiness, consider using a shield as well, not suitable for every build, but can work well with some.
Also, items with Absorb Fire and/or Lightning tends to be very helpful.
