Can anyone educate me how Lo rune can be more expensive than Sur?

Wow, it’s been more than a month since I started this post and I didn’t expect this long chain of discussions at all! Thank you all for your valuable input.

To be honest, I ended up getting another

Sur (by trade) and cubing them up to

Ber, and selling it for much better price like I said so at the beginning. (The best deal I’ve got so far was 2

Lo +

Ohm for

Ber = 2

Sur…) So basically have been trading 2

Sur(

Ber) with 2

Lo + @ and repeating this process, leaving myself with a huge margin. Now my Sorceress is fully equipped with end-game gears (Infinity, Fortitude, Chains of Honors, Phoenix… you name it) and it is solely from a bunch of trades taking advantage of the weird price difference between

Lo and

Sur. Having read through you guys’ comments, now I ‘kind of’ see why

Lo is more expensive…? But whoever wants to sell

Sur now, my advice is – don’t do it! Get another

Sur, make

Ber, and then sell it for more than 2

Lo! LOL

This is definitely no longer the case. Makes sense though.

Sur is essentially worthless without at least another

Sur. And early people want to make their griefs and fortitudes, now everyone has that they want to make Infinity’s and other high end rune words.

Good Runewords that use

Sur rune is useful by more specific builds and these runewords generally are made late in the account.

Lo has use for more useful runewords, such as Grief and Fortitude.

Without reading replies,

Sur itself has virtually no utility except for if you have x2 you may upgrade to a

Ber (which has loads of utility) in the cube.

TLDR:

Lo have greater utility versus a

Sur (albeit less rare to drop).

Botters dropping more Surs than

Lo's and

Lo is more used in common runewords id say.

When this happens in the D2R market just keep abusing it until it settles out. Cube your 2

Sur into

Ber. Trade

Ber for 2

Lo. Trade 2

Lo for more than 2

Sur (plus a

Flawless Amethyst which has value). Cube

Sur into

Ber. And repeat until you get tired of having extra runes or until people stop being willing.

This kind of imbalance happens all the time, and you just sell and buy and sell and buy until it sorts itself out. Doing this generally nets you Wealth in D2R faster than playing. If it goes too slow, people might do bulk trades. 4

Ber for 8

Lo. 8

Lo for more than 8

Sur etc.

I'm not playing ladder this season, or online in general anymore. If you can do this, even better.

I joined the site almost 2 years ago, and probably started trading for High Runes 1 year ago (or maybe 1 year and a half), and my impression is that the price of High Runes x
