Get a level 20 or so Holy Fire paladin, and you are good to go on normal ACT 1
If you are on ladder, I buy green ones for 15 per Ist.

Non-Ladder, Softcore. You may mix and match by rates below.

Personally enjoy running normal cows. Is it me being stupid or is that functional way to obtain low lvl gems? I do not know, but it works for me

The easiest way is a Holy Fire paladin with a rogue merc running Harmony... you want fire damage and speed.
I farm a ton of chips running normal cows and not even trying.
I run two Holy Fire paladins,
One is built for max fire damage using GG gear
One is built with leftovers and for speed normal cow runs
