Let's say I went full Fire Arrow tree and I have a Flame Rift so I don't have much issue with immune monsters.
I have a few skill points in my Valkyrie just to have monsters regroup around her so I can spam Immolation Arrows and Explosive Arrows.
I have some free skil points available and was wondering if I should go Magic Arrow or Guided Arrow and wanted opinions.

Can be used to make Runewords:

I don't have much experience of Magic Arrow, Guided Arrow always seemed pretty good to me, but I know a few folks from the physical bowa thread were extolling the benefits of Magic Arrow for those pesky physical immunes.
How are you finding the fire / Exploding Arrow build? I am currently in NM with this setup (lvl 39) and was planning to switch to freezing but am enjoying the fire, is it viable all through hell with the sunder charm?

OP
I have a FA Amazon non-ladder and as my first and only ladder char I wanted to do different so I went fire this time. It works but it is slow with fire immunes because yeah they are no more immune but they are like 99% fire res and I'm not geared like I want. Once I will get a Vex to do Flickering Flame it should be much better. I think?Janet the Java wrote: 2 years ago How are you finding the fire / Exploding Arrow build? Personally, I find guided to be relatively underwhelming since the Strafe buffs. Though your build may fall short on capitalizing on those for lack of skill points.
Except for PvP of course..GA = baller for that.
Magic Arrow is a very solid cleaner of phys immunes for a bowzon (mine will certainly never waste a charm slot on a phys sunder) and works just fine by itself, without any extra skills needed for synergies.
Though if you're using a fire sunder anyways...why even bother with magic or GA? Just get a bit of -res to add to the Rift and you're probably fine with full fire. Ele zon tends to gear quite differently anyways, resulting in sub-par comparative phys dmg, meaning magic and GA both will kinda blow as compared to a real phys zon.

i would go for fire + full Magic Arrow with merc and without valk until i get equipement that lowers resistances. then i would reskill to fire + valk.
...ladder also

That was my plan and needed confirmation between Magic and Guided. I know Guided would be VERY usefull on Blood Raven, man she don't stop moving like crazy, it's hard to aim on her with ranged weapons.brgljez wrote: 2 years ago i would go for fire + full Magic Arrow with merc and without valk until i get equipement that lowers resistances. then i would reskill to fire + valk.
Isn't Gul the best you can get on Hellforge ? Well at least it's half of the path.
Main: Necromancer / Second: Assassin / Third: Amazon / Check my stash, my crafts and my many cheap Annihilus
I have a Strafe Zon build, and Magic Arrow will take down anything in the gane that physical Strafe can't. I have Guided Arrow maxed out since it boosts Strafe damage, while I've added just +10 to Magic Arrow, but it's far more effective at +10 than Guided Arrow is maxed out.
Please post offer in item trade before adding me on Bnet, I'm in EST time zone (E Coast U.S)
Not with Strafe. Strafe auto targets everything in a straight line from the center front, side, and back.Rhialto wrote: 2 years agoThat was my plan and needed confirmation between Magic and Guided. I haven't tried a Pure Fire Arrow build, but I have had a few Freezing Arrow builds that splashed Exploding Arrow for cold immunes and magic for both, and found the mavina's set is a excellent budget gear set for one. (Gloves in the set give +20% Cold skill damage when the set is complete) The Freezing Arrow has great crowd control utility.

Please Review my about me post for Ground rules before you make posts in my topics, if these are violated (even in ignorance) the consequence is the same.

Really? Bummer

I have one not ladder, it works great but of course won't go M'avina's for this pure fire build.Xanhast70 wrote: 2 years ago I haven't tried a Pure Fire Arrow build, but I have had a few Freezing Arrow builds that splashed Exploding Arrow for cold immunes and magic for both, and found the mavina's set is a excellent budget gear set for one. Here’s another vote for Magic Arrow!
Yes it deals the sought after magic damage, which is awesome, and it tends to take out bosses faster on my physical bowazon than Guided Arrow, but for me the real benefit is that after a certain level it costs zero mana!
It’s great if you get hit by something with mana burn and instead of chugging pots or just running away just pull out Magic Arrow and your still killing.
Guided Arrow still isn’t bad, it definitely has uses for fast moving things and scouting for off screen targets.
My recommendation is enough points into Magic Arrow so you can cast for free, and maybe 1 point into Guided Arrow for scouting/off screen targets (all assuming you have at least +6 to bow skills)
