Description

Shadow Dancer is intended for use by Assassins for the bonus to Shadow Disciplines. The rest of the stats are good, but not incredibly, and the strength requirement is high. It does have the highest damage for boots, which is relevant for kicksins.

Most players prefer War Traveler for Magic Find, Gore Rider or Goblin Toe for extra damage, or Sandstorm Trek for general use. Some characters will even use Aldur's Advance for the high Fire Resist bonus to fill the hole in resistances left by Spirit.

Beyond that, rare boots with 2-3 resistances, 30% FRW, and another good stat like FHR or Magic Find are preferred over almost any unique or set boots.

Shadow Dancer can be a useful item to keep in the stash for prebuffing, as it can increase the potency of Burst of Speed, Fade, Venom: Skill, Shadow Warrior, and Shadow Master.

Because Shadow Dancer's Strength requirement exceeds that of a Monarch, 11 Attribute points - equivalent to 33 base Life - would likely need to be diverted from Vitality to facilitate this use case.
