This is one of two contenders for best in slot for a might merc with Pride as a main weapon, especially when paired with a

Vampire Gaze or

Crown of Ages - ideally

Eth and upgraded with a high def roll and socketed with

Um, or +15all res & good secondary mod jewel. The only other consideration is an

Eth up’d

Guardian Angel.

This is better than an efort because Pride doesn’t really do enough damage to leach effectively, so you’d be looking for max damage reduction
