Post patch ancients

I did uber ancients x3 yesterday with my smiter, and then I realised that after the patch they were way stronger than before. I managed to successfully kill them on my first two attempts and but on the 3rd run, I got too scared by how fast I lost my hp, so I had to leave the game. Yes, I play HC. Might try again with more res and with a merc.

OK, I made it. I put Um to my
Guillaume's Face for more res and buffed myself with Fade so I got all the resists above 300%. Korlic and Madawc were fast and easy to kill but Talic killed me and I couldnt get my corpse back (I´ve been killed again and again). I was quite desperate but then I managed to pick up the corpse and left through the portal (I though this will Revive the rest of the ancients as it is with normal ones, haha). Then I buffed myself again and killed Talic. It´s really tough but doable with smiter. Thanks for all the advice here.

Today I did my first Colossal Ancients post patch run with my Fury hardcore druid. Two times I did this before the patch and it was relatively easy even without BiS gear. In these two attempts I ran to the ancient at the top and smacked him down quickly, Korlic I killed last (since I wanted a protectors Stone jewel). The zoo made it possible to keep the ancients seperated.

This time I kinda had BiS gear (Death, CoH, Meta). But, things did not go as planned. I went through the portal and spawned the ancients. Then I thought: "Hey wait a minute, my zoo is lagging behind." After this second of hesitation they all jumped on me in the middle. It was Chaos and it was difficult to seprate the three ancients.

I headed back to town five times to resummon the zoo and get the job finally done. Overall, I did not have a real close call but in one situation I thought: "Damn, this might be the end right here right now..." On one of my escapes I missed the portal and got stuck and surrounded behind it.

On top of all I got a cold jewel. A relatively good one, but not the one I wanted. Well, the good thing is I get to live another day.

In the next few days I will test it again and I will see if things go better if you get the first ancient down much quicker seperated from the others.

So I now did two additional runs with my hardcore Fury druid. Both times it worked out quite well since I was able to kill Talic quickly. The zoo kept the others busy. My Merc has Kelpie Snare, Kira's and Treachery. As a resullt he has maxed fire and cold resistances (in case you use thawing potions) even before the Fade proc. He will not survive the whole fight but if he lands a hit with the Kelpie Snare the slowing effect is certainly very helpful.

The sad thing is I now have a total of 4 cold jewels out of 5 runs Damn, looks like I need to collect more statues...

Is it easier to kill them with Mosaic Phoenix Strike assassin?

It is for sure. Buff with Fade to get 280+ res and use Dragon Claw.

Great, maybe i try it with Assassin 1st, never try it before, haha

I did my first Uber ancients and Uber Tristram using a smiter and the Guardian Angel tip. I did not upgrade Guardian Angel but I did socket an Um. I also prebuffed Fade. It was all super easy.

Did another ancients run today with my hardcore Fury druid. It seems to get easier with each run. This was my sixth run in total. Finally I got my second Protector's Stone jewel. My Strafe Bowazon now has a new toy to play with

Would you mind sharing your Fury druid build for this?

My hardcore Fury druid uses Death in an Eth silver Edge Axe, Meta helmet, CoH armor, dracs, highlords, gore riders, Nightsmoke (because of damage taken goes to mana) and ravenfrost and a ring with resistances. Pre buff with Treachery, mark of the bear and wolf, Call To Arms. My Merc is act two Holy Freeze with Kelpie Snare, Treachery and Kira's Guardian. I use maxed Oak Sage and summon the zoo with about plus 20 to skills (1 hard point invested).

The main thing is always to isolate and kill the first ancient quickly. For me it is always the top left one. Run towards him and keep locked onto him by continue pressing the mouse button and the Fury druid will follow him. Some of the pets and merc often survive until I take the second ancient down. You can then head back to town or continue fighting, basically the Fury druid could do it alone but it sure feels much safer with the zoo and kelpi snare merc by your side.

Tomb Reaver has 3 open sockets, so you can also add resistance there with jewels.

So, you need to make up about 125% resist all to account for the -100 Conviction aura and to get your merc to 90% res from 65% no gear base.

Double Ber'd CoA will give 31% DR and 30% all res

3x 15 res all Tomb Reaver with 50% all res gives 95%

That's 125% right there, and then you can do a Ber'd Guardian Angel for another 8% DR

Total DR is 39%, with 90% resist all

Bonus - have all 3 jewels be scintillating jewel of Frigidity/the Icicle/ the Glacier, and I believe you will get a 33% slow effect on the Talic or Madawc for (2*3)*25% = 1.5 seconds

Tomb Reaver, Guardian Angel and Kira's Guardian or Crown of Ages

You want to put 1x Stone and 2x ED+Max DMG in in to the weapon for more LL and DMG

You can change Kiras for COA with 2x 15 AR, If all are perfect on AR rolls, you only need addtional 30 AR.

for the next IAS breakpoint you need 30 IAS, preferable offhand for more dmg on Weapon.

I have tested jt since last week, and Emilio is doing fine.
