Can be used to make Runewords:

From what I've seen in my own playtime, Echoing Strike does not reduce weapon durability. Thus, if you do not intend to use any other weapon-related skills, the ethereal property of the weapon would never become an issue. As mikelessar stated, if you are a pure caster who never swings their weapon (such as a Warlock specializing in the Chaos tree), you also do not need to worry about weapon durability.

With my observations so far, the Warlock skills are mixed, in the sense some are physical hits with the weapon, and some are cast like Echoing Strike.
