Let's talk Eldritch Warlock
Brainstorming here.
Your merc probably has might aura and wields Pride.
You saw everyone flock to Breath of the Dying Thunder Maul (big number go bigger).
Then everyone was like we should all go for Doom instead (freeze + crit + 2 skills). Also in Thunder Maul.
The above needs to get all the FCR it can get to reach 75 FCR.
People realized Fortitude might be ok instead with 25 base fcr and damage still big enough to stomp in p8. But wait, you are spending mana like a choo-choo train on steroids.
Correct me, if I'm wrong, but is the BiS actually ye olde Insight? 35 FCR, whoppping +6 crit which gets upped by all + All skills gear and solves any and all mana problems.
For your bound demon, cursed is a no-brainer, Fanaticism helps your merc and gives you 118% off-weapon ED.
Did we go in a circle in terms of rarity of the weapon only for bagholders to hold their own bags? Sell into the feeding frenzy is my take. Buy Insight.

My warlock is currently level 42 rocking an Eth. Halberd Insight 17/249/4 that I use to put on merc when leveling new chars.
Skill points not optimal, spent all in demon tree before level 25, no respec yet, but now have 1.4k damage with 2 echoes and he obliterates everything
Can you imagine Eth. CV Insight becoming BIS mainhand weapon? What a time to be alive

I have all the 2hander quee mentioned, those provide about 7-10K more damage to my Eth col Voulge Insight, but lacking the 75fcr does slow down my farming abit, after all, all mobs die instantly so that 7-10k extra dmg for echoing strike doesnt really mattet atm…
Until i get a 2/20 ammy, 2/20 Helm, i will stick with Insight for echoing strike for sure

Does Echoing Strike scale with FCR rather than IAS? That would be rather unexpected, but I suppose is is obvious it "attacks" at a different rate than a plain Attack does...

That's exactly it, it's physical damage based on FCR. The word on the street is it should be changed, somehow. I would have expected it to be based on IAS, as Mirrored Blades seems to be. Crushing blow doesn't apply to Echoing Strike, so no Death decaps, no Last Wish mauls. That is very surprising to learn! Do we know if Deadly Strike, Open Wounds, or even Levitation Mastery's Critical Strike chance apply?

Levitation does get added to whatever crit+deadly you already have.
Open wounds, crushing blow, slows target, knockback, nothing applies.
Physical FCR based attack with no AR tied to it.
Crushing blow should be applying to mirrored blades though. That one is for ubers.

I’m using a Death Colossus Sword for now. The crushing blow and some other stats are wasted, but the damage is good, and the high deadly strike and mana leech are useful. But yeah FCR is tough to fit into melee builds already, and this is a fun puzzle to find the best setup
do you know if you can have a hex and Enchant at the same time? I'm using a Giant Thresher Obedience as my best weapon at the moment.
When I get enchanted my damage turns red from blue but the number doesn't change, when I'm using the hex: bane.

A good way to tell would be to see if your hex debuff is applying to enemies. It's the little purpleish cloud over their heads. MrLlamaSC is using Wirt's Leg. Weapon damage seems to be somehow irrelevant.

The damage is absurd due to the skills, this entire thread is about which sword to tape to the front of a nuke. Its a D3 character.
Enchant seems to get rid of it maybe? I'm not 100% sure. I also found out that lethargy breaks phys immunes today.

I am pretty confused about warlock now. Instantly ready to farm with late-mid game abilities.
