Dclone walk notification not working

OS: Win10 Pro

Steps to reproduce: set the notification settings like this: Anything else to add: I've set up the tracker's notification tool like this maybe 2-3 weeks ago, after the previous ROTW Softcore Non-Ladder America Clone Diablo walk. Come yesterday and a new walk happen, but I didn't get notified anywhere. I wasn't on the game at the moment it happened, but I was on my computer so I expected to see all three notifications happen. Now I have not yet experienced those notifications so I don't know what the board notification and push notification look like, but I'm always keeping a close eye on my emails and I didn't see anything come in (spam/junk folders were checked). Is it possible all three notifications just didn't happen, or should I rather consider that whatever happened, happened on my end? I also posted this situation in the Feedback forum but didn't receive an answer so I'm posting here, please let me know which of the two places is the right one, I'll delete the other.

I'll do a test now - I'll set the dclone NA NL SC status to a 3, then to a 4. You should receive notifications - let me know. I'll set it back to its previous status afterwards to clean up.

Test complete. I received emails, pushes, and board notifications. Did you?

I have received the email notification, and the notification bell in the top right corner of the page is marked with the little red-circled 1 indicating that there is a new notification but I don't know whether this is called push notification or board notification. And I have not seen whatever is the third notification (board or push), probably because I'm in the Eastern Standard Timezone and I just woke up. Just so I know what to look for, what exactly is a board notification, and what exactly is a push notification?

The bell in the top right is a board notification.

A push notification is like a banner that appears in the top right of your computer screen (outside of your browser window).

Can you check the following for me:
- Have you given this website permission to send push notifications?
- Have you enabled push notifications in the first place? Click the bell, you'll see a button near the bottom.

@Teebling There's been a new Dclone walk just now (SCNL RotW) and yet again, no notifications of any kind. No email, no board, no push. Still using Firefox 155.0.1 (64 bits) on Windows 10 Pro.

@nimportequi I've been looking through the code for the last 30 minutes and nothing is jumping out to me.

Are you getting push notifications at all? Like can you confirm that push notifications in general (not dclone specifically - any push notification) are working for you?

They look a bit like this on my Mac for example.
An easy way to test would be to enable push notifications for the Terror zone tracker, which updates every 30 mins.

Thanks for your follow-up. I confirm having received an email notification last week on the previous NLSC Dclone double walk (one at 9PM and the other at 9:10PM, EST). However I missed the other 2 notifications (board and push) because I wasn't in front of my computer when the first walk happened. I was there however on the second walk and for that one, there was no email, board or push notification. Looks like when 2 walks happen in "quick" succession like this, the notifications can't follow.

I also have never seen push notifications work at all in my browser, DClone walks or otherwise. I'll enable them for the Terror zone tracker, see what happens and let you know. I'll also pay closer attention tonight as there are another NLSC DClone walk planned at 9PM EST (I've already set an alarm at 8:45 to stop whatever I'm doing and get my butt in front on my computer).

@nimportequi some common pitfalls for users on Firefox with Windows 10 that might be preventing you from receiving push notifications at all in the first place:

Potential issues:

• Windows has not allowed Firefox. Settings → System → Notifications & actions. Notifications must be on, and Firefox must be in the list with Show notification banners turned on. The site permission does not set this.
• Focus Assist is on. Priority only or Alarms only swallows banners. It also turns itself on during set hours, fullscreen apps, and when a display is duplicated.
• Firefox is fully quit. Firefox does not deliver web push after the browser is closed. Chrome can. You have to have a Firefox window open when the walk happens.
• Mozilla’s push service is blocked. A firewall, antivirus, Pi-hole, or extension can block push.services.mozilla.com while the permission still looks granted.

I reckon it's probably the first, second, or third point in the list - extra Windows settings cockblocking your push notifications... do try and take a look please.

DClone walk just happened, this time no email notification, and no board or push notif either.

- I confirm notifications were already on in Windows settings, Firefox was already in the list of allowed senders but I don't know where to check if the Show banner notification setting is on.

- The Focus assist general setting was already off, but it had like a sub-setting that turns it on when I'm playing a game. I'll turn it off and see if it makes a difference.

- Firefox is pretty much always open 24/7.

- I don't know where to check if my firewall, antivirus, Pi-hole (I don't know what that is) or extensions is blocking Mozilla's notifications.

Finally, I enabled Terror zones notifications and I am getting those. At this point I don't want to make you work more for something that seems to be just a weird thing that is happening only to me, especially considering that I sort of can keep track of when DClone walks happen by keeping an eye on the tracker and keeping an eye on the forum thread that announces when new walks are planned.

Hmm sorry just looking again, something is not adding up here.

Okay got it, so @nimportequi D2emu didn't send me the updates looks like.

I'll have a chat with Mysterio and find out what the jig is - either there's a problem with the websocket connection I'm using, or his own tracker isn't catching the updates on time.

@Teebling No worries bud, I've worked with devs and programmers (I'm in tech support) and I know you guys need cooperative users to test stuff in the field and accurately report back when something isn't behaving right. I haven't seen any new walks planned as of yet, but as soon as there is one I'll come back here and let you know how the notifications behaved. Thanks for all the work!
