poison necro opinion

Enigma or Bramble.

Full Trang is sad, because you mess up your FCR breakpoints. The best pieces are gloves, belt and shrunken head from this set. Gives +25% damage and -25% enemy resistance.

never managed to get necro past lvl 20

out of curiosity, what would his max poison dps be?

to compare with the Plague zon ~10k in practical farming mode or ~14k in impractical max max dmg mode

resistance reduction would be extreme for necro, ~-100 i guess? before the Lower Resist

zon can reach -45 at best

and still, to my knowledge, the poison is just to soften up, before the Corpse Explosion does the killing?

damn shame the poison interruption on attack bug hasn't been fixed for decades...

if u r using Enigma, 3 piece trang and 75fcr for safe Teleport

for full trang, jewelry + gloves=50 fcr, Poison Nova does not need fast casting. Teleport charges on the amulet/naj's staff on switch for positioning.

My Poisonmancer is at 13k poison damage and -89% enemy resistance. This is enough to kill most mobs on screen with one cast at /p1 setting.

I am wearing Bramble and Naj's Puzzler on swap.

Btw: 50 FCR as Vampire is 17 frames per cast.... this is what an Amazon has with 14 FCR. Ugh. Given, that I not only cast Poison Nova, but Lower Resist, Decrepify, Corpse Explosion, Golem, Teleport, Bone Prison and Bone Armor, this would be waaaaay too slow for my taste.

I am at 11 frames, and this is okay. I'd like to have it at 10, but I am still lacking a good 2/20 Circlet. However, it is fast enough to cast a Nova and quickly cast LR after so that enemies are cursed before they get hit by the poison.

13k per second or over 2 seconds?

At the higher end, somewhere around the 14-18k range, give or take. Depending on gear choice, desire to truly maximize and all that.
(Before lower res but with gear -res)
Or in more useful terms, enough to comfortably farm P8 TZ96 but not enough to do so at "meta speeds".

Circling back to the OP, you COULD use all 3 options really.
- Bramble will ultimately give you the highest dmg.
- Enigma trades some of that for unrivaled travel speed.
- Trang is objectively the worst of the three but can still be used to get quite solid performance. If ever you do want to use trang just for the sake of using it, poison is probably the build to do it with. As a summoner, you'd miss tele-stomping far too much. As a Bone nec, the cast speed penalty would drive you insane. But as a poison nec, you can get by with just run speed as you don't need to worry about minion positioning and since Nova takes quite a while to tick through anyways, the cast penalty doesn't hit you anywhere near as much as it does on other builds. Still not the best choice by any means (it just never is) but definitely an option if you want to use it for the flair of it.
