I just finished to clear the 7 Tal Rasha's Tomb TZ, and I killed all monster that spawned in Canyon of the Magi TZ while I walk through the tombs too.
After that I faced
8 heralds
and dropped
5 shards (1 Western Worldstone Shard 2 Eastern Worldstone Shard 1 Southern Worldstone Shard 1 Deep Worldstone Shard 0 Northern Worldstone Shard)
Is this an average result? Was I lucky? Was I unlucky?

Can be used to make Runewords:
7 - 8 Heralds seems about right. 5 shards is on the low end, I would say. A complete Tombs TZ with the heralds feels more like 6 - 8 shards to me. But I have no data to back this up.
This looks like pretty normal result. I used to do TZ 96 tomb and Chaos for leveling to 99 in 1p. It turns out that I slightly gain act2 and act4 shards, meaning I get a little more than one shard for each act for every run.
I don’t thinks shards and spawn of heralds or the sunder’s from the heralds are affected by the mf though.

They drop so much at this point I don't really count
