Is the minus fire res only applied to the spell itself? Or has it also a benefit for Tainted?

from what Ive understood it shreds the current resistance enemy has. I could be wrong, but this is how someone explained it and this is how Ive thought it to be with all the -resistance things.
If your Tainted shoots Fire Bolt, it deals more dmg if you have -fire resistance in items.

The -res on the Apocalypse skill only applies to Apocalypse itself. There's also no "time window" after casting Apocalypse where you can cast other fire skills and take advantage of the -res.
