New Player

Hello, I'm a new player. I purchased this game like 9 months ago, but never seriously got into it. Until very recently.

First, I chose Paladin because I like the idea of a Holy warrior. And to be honest this was after trying every single alternative and before comitting to him.

I just used to play different classes and reach up to a certain difficulty level and then restart with a new char/class, just to start out really getting in the game's mechanics and diverse skills. I got to say Assassin comes as a close second in my prefferred list of classes and Barbarian third. I know pretty controversial when everyone just picks sorceress half the time and she's not even in my top three. But for me, it's way more fun with these other classes. Anyways.

I heard hammerdin is the meta of D2R and I've really wanted to try him out. All good until now. I mean, I got rushed like an amateur and landed on Nightmare difficulty, from there I grinded 6 more levels by myself to try out FoH and as much as I dont want to sound a downer, I kinda liked it, but hammerdin still seems better in terms of raw damage.

I'm not into hitting any wall pretty soon due to having played during this and last year and know the fundamentals of the game by now. Just wanted to say "hi" and move on. Like: "Hi, it's my first post!"

Oh btw I didn't add that I've always played offline until this point and just tried my online experience and had some interaction with other players. My build still feels a bit weak compared to others, with 10 skill points to

Blessed Hammer at level 31. Maybe I'm not *concentrating enough.

I also figured out how to use auras + skills at the same time which I would have never thought possible without looking into these forum posts. Anyways, thanks for reading. Sorry if I wasted your time because there was nothing interesting here.

That's the thing about D2, the only preferred class is the one you like. There are some classes that are better at certain tasks such as a

Smite Paladin for killing Ubers, but otherwise just stick with the one you have the most fun with. Welcome!

Fisting Tzees especially all of Act 4 ..and CS (no not the FPS mind you) since FOH became a serious contender, FISTING those Chaos Knights, Oblivion Finger Mages and

nothing like a GD gud FISTING ahhhh that felt good.

It was, Fisting lickin' GUD!

imho FoH feels sooooo much better than hammerdin in terms of clearing high density areas with demons and undead. You just have to skip animal types, but thats still a fair deal for the sheer output of heavy AoE.
