It would be like CtA having BO oskill 0-6. BC's +1 all skills bonus is nice, but minor, especially on an endgame build with plenty of +all skills from other items. OTOH BO's life and mana boost is significant, and it scales with +all skills bonuses.

Can be used to make Runewords:
That's another one for me: CtA should just not exist.
OP
Oskills really should not include utilities. Stuff like Teleport and CTA is just good in every situation on every character. There's no real build decisions. Stuff like Holy Shield, Find Item, etc would also be terrible to have on oskills. Stuff like Blaze, Leap Attack, Bone Spear, etc, would be much more balanced.
I'm more of an opinion that all the skills casted that are not your class skills should have a penalty in terms of faster cast rate or duration or some sort of efficiency.
Example, when using Teleport, your faster cast rate gets cut in half.
Casting CTA...cool, here's shorter duration.
In the context of the game that would make more sense, since skills outside your class should come with some kind of penalty or limitation.
That way we who main sorc forever to this day will get that sour taste out of our mouth.
But who will listen to me...
I guess a simple ultimate answer would be to get back to the very first 1.03 patch, no unique, no runewords. We all play like those speed runners. Passing hell would be excessively hard, from the standard today...
See as much as I like this idea of having a Teleport skill for ever class, I feel like modifying the available skills is WAY riskier for causing an uproar that tweaking some of the numbers on things.

Remove how OP Enigma/ Teleport is for other characters outside of sorc. You shouldn't be able to just warp all over the map and an entire act in essentially in 3-5 minutes. To me it takes away from the Spirit of the game, personally i won't ever use an Enigma, but i completely understand why 90% of players do and i don't care if my character is just running around all "slow" and how inefficient people will say it is.
OP
Even sorcs run Enigma. It's just that goodphirren wrote: 17 hours agoRemove how OP Enigma/ Teleport is for other characters outside of sorc. Not all sorcs use Enigma, for example Nova sorc is BiS with Vipermagi.
The issue with Enigma is that some classes desperately need it for their build to function smoothly. Typically summon necro without a reliable Teleport (so not only charges) are reaaaally bad (I know, I do play a full Trang set summon-poisoner ^^). And even with it summon necro is definitely not an S-tier build for endgame (though good for "rather afk").
So nerfing Enigma's Teleport will most likely impact necros, hammerdins... more than sorcs who were already the dominant class before locks came in. If Enigma is too be nerfed, would not do that on the Teleport, but on the massive +STR + frw which is probably a bit too strong. Or you nerf Teleport, but for everyone including sorcs, but that makes a slower game for everyone... unlikely to please anyone.
Anyway, discussion that happened already many times with no effect, as Blizzard does not take into account our advice whatsoever.

Main: Necromancer / Second: Assassin / Third: Amazon / Check my stash tabs
i really don't get the Spirit bashing. it took me forever to get my first one. and for most chars 156 strength is a heavy investment, i rarely equip it before anni
don't think this game needs that many nerfs, rather p8 in multiplayer and buffs to weaker builds

OP
It's extremely cheap, easily found and BIS for probably the outright majority of builds.
I think the issue people have with Spirit is more it's effectiveness in shields vs it's relative cost (made from low runes available in normal difficulty).
That said, the strength requirements of 156 at minimum for Spirit is a fair compensation (less overall max health, more liability to be 1 shot).
runes are not a problem. shields and strength are a problem. and by the time they are not, most gear is not a problemLemzodistber wrote: 14 hours agoIt's extremely cheap, easily found and BIS for probably the outright majority of builds.
i agree more variety would be nice. but then better buff some alternatives..
My main is usually a summoner and I hear ya.Necrarch wrote: 14 hours agoNot all sorcs use Enigma, for example Nova sorc is BiS with Vipermagi.

Some areas of the game are extremely frustrating to the point of basically requiring an Enigma unless you ask for help (and play online that is). Arcane Sanctuary, a very important area for obvious reasons, is an absolute pain. I sit and watch my merc taking goatmen 1v1 for an Eternity until I get a squadron of revived Spectres flying around and that's painfully slow as well, plus they tend to fight other Spectres over the Void resulting in no drops so it's not really viable either. I'm fully aware Blizzard aren't required to cater to my needs personally, but the point about the classes is true.
I'd rather see this addressed by other means. Put Teleport somewhere else too, for example, a unique or something.
None. Play solo self found and none of these items are game-breaking. If you'd all stop buying botted GG items with forum Gold, you'd look forward to working toward these powerful items, and it would make them all the better when you finally got them and had a powerful character.

Also the Teleport is not a problem on Enigma, the obscene Strength and MF bonuses need to go.
I'll take on the challenge of Least Popular but Correct:
Remove rune words.
Diablo is about the loot.
The story only takes a couple hours, and repeats itself 3 times.
The actual game is about entering the same 60 second dungeon ad nauseam for the slight possibility that something good drops, incrementally increasing your power.
Rune words do not fit with the original game mechanic, they are deterministic (if I do this, I always get that); and worse, BiS for easily 1/2 the item slots.
At the least, rares should be buffed so there is something out there potentially better for every slot (aside from Boots, circlets, and javazon gloves).
i.e. rare armor that could spawn with Teleport and be better than Enigma, or a rare sword better than Grief.
Rune words contribute to BiS mentality and frozen build guides.
The reason we are excited about the new items added in RoW is we have something new to hunt for and tinker with.
Buffing rares would give us 100s or 1000s of items to hunt for, and each time we find one opening up all the fun of agonizing over which is better and how to re-balance charms, rings, etc.
However, best change is anything that keeps the most players engaged and our 26-year community strong.
If that is new characters capable of tele-stomping Players-8 TZ96 Fant-Cursed Lord De Seis for a 50 second Chaos Run... I'm all for it (admittedly its alot of fun).

I have a wonderful solution to this problem for all of you.
Good day to you partner!
I agree, it's garbage that takes up a slot. You also need a Spirit Mon of at least 156 str for everyone except Paladins and those without Enigma.
Use a Barb on a secondary account or find teammates who share your playstyle and can play as a team. Even if the developers listened to the whining that's been going on for years, I'd simply level up a Telesorc on a third account to open portals for my DD and Horker, and I'd still be able to clear areas just as quickly as before, unlike those on walk.
Find friends and set the rules if you want everyone to play the way you want. If you play in public games with random players, most of whom are idiots, you'll have to accept that someone will ruin the game.
This message is not specifically for you, but for everyone who is trying to change something that was added to the game many years ago. It's still a remaster of LoD, although it looks more like a remake.
Good day to you partner!
