I've used about 3 shards in a private game and it seemed a complete waste of time. I understand the drop rate is extremely low.
I found a better use for my shards in trading, yielding a few
Ist
on ladder.
So for now, they are just currency for me.

If they made this change, it would be acceptable to me if they introduced a new SOH that had to be used. I.e. I need to farm new torches. The

hunt is actually a fun activity. Gathering organs is a fun activity. Doing Uber Trist is a fun activity. Sunders...not so much :)

Just gone through and totally cleared Act1 and Act2 after having used shards, aswell as doing all the other TZ's and bosses when they were terrorized during. Not one "ire of the heralds", let alone a
Herald
themselves, and no keys or statues - just one essence from Andy.

I've had some fun but am done with this game. See you next DLC.

rates and actually made them even worse. Obviously might just be bad luck again but mweh..

Did another shard run today for another measly 2 heralds for a full act 1 plus cows plus tundra. Didn't get much better after that.

And nearly every time I got ires outside of that, no matter how many, I couldn't get a
Herald
out of it. As in..stacked 2-3 ire tokens but even after scouting 2, 3 in one case even 4 full tz'd zones, not a single one turned into a
Herald
. Literally quit the game with 3 tokens pending because I just couldn't be bothered to deal with that nonsense anymore.

Heralds are fluctuating strongly in our games. We have 5-20 per day.

My main concern still is the insulting drop tables!

It just doesn't matter how many of them appear, they're dropping 99.9% junk. The best items we always found between
Herald
battles!

Since arrival of RotW we played almost every day. We played 2+ hrs daily in p2/2 games and we only found 1-2 high end items and not a single sunder or high rune in all this time dropping from Heralds. It's just depressing.

What I like about the system is the drop rate of shards. We find more shards than we can use.

And what I totally hate after playing 4 weeks, is that the terror zone music overrides any other music in this game. Can't hear that depressing loop anymore. All places lose their characteristic sound atmosphere which I loved so much!! Arrgh!

For low items I also accept: Perfect Amys,
Ral
,
Hel
, Tokens, Keys. Please don't offer runes lower than
Pul
(with the named exceptions).

My "Resurrected" trades can be converted to RotW! Just message me.

I think you might be right, because it seems as though
Herald
's have become a bit more rarefied.

Same thing for me today. Terrorized a1, a2, a4 and a5.

act 1 --> 2 Heralds
act 2 --> 3 Hearlds
act 4+5 --> 1
Herald
in total

Had no motivation for act 3 anymore...

Actually can't confirm that. I'm running with ~600 mf and usually get 1-2 set/unique items per
Herald
kill (if tier 3+).

Thoughts on Heralds:

Takes a complete A-Hole like Llama to whine that a unique item needed to be made more Rare because he can Command prompt as many as he wants into the game while screwing over EVERY other player who has to NOW not only get a annoying
Herald
to spawn but because the drop is bugged do it with a barb to Wah WAH WAH at the corpse to drop it, then you need the Shards to upgrade those.

It's about as stupid as the 100% uniques 100% set and 100% Rune words <<<< Umm I know in all the Time I've played D2 since before LOD there are Uniques I've NEVER seen drop. I've yet to get all the Runes in SP probably never will so making all runewords is a fantasy which needs multiple of those never dropped runes.

Why are Heralds Annoying? Because they get spawned as the biggest chicken shit MOB's of the current region the ones that Run when you knock off 3/4's of their life or swing over to new Mobs as you've cleared off their minions to reintroduce another 20-30 overbuffed mobs and the buffs stay on even if the
Herald
has died or moved to another place. Example the Birds in
Lower Kurast
Herald
decides to fly away buffs all the mobs it flies over before landing suddenly all those mobs stay buffed as if they were close to the
Herald
when not in range of the aura.

I have to laugh at the previous poster who states they are running 600%MF and doesn't see a problem with drops. at 300% MF your lucky if a yellow drops. D2R has so screwed the drop rates you need to run MF in amounts so stupid you couldn't even achieve them back during LOD. Seriously killing

with 300% you will see all White or just a few blue drops without Uniques or even Yellows. There is also evidence someone at Blizzard is fiddling the numbers to corespond with specific time zones because drop rates rise & nearly disappear certain times of day or on specific days (Example how people noted Friday the 13th had exceptional drop rates).

I don't understand why the old sunder charms weren't just left as is. Removing them Just punishes casual players (especially on reset).

Then the latent sunders can be left to people who enjoy endlessly grinding Acts 1 - 5 terrorized. If you are going for 99 this also looks to be one of the ways to do it, instead of just cherry picking the usual Tombs / Chaos and WSK.

If you have at least one disposable character and one decent permanent expansion character, you can still farm the original sunders and use the disposable character to move them to D2r RoTW if you need one there.

Funny story, to me. I only get to play when I'm "at work" so I have to play muted. I didn't know that the music changed.

Old man still killing demons and yelling at clouds.
Trades are LOD by default, but I can also trade on ROTW.

My go to tactic is to do a zone in a higher act, and if I'm lucky to spawn 2-3 heralds in it, I terrorize a1, and then if I have time and game doesn't disconnect, also a2. that's how chances are pretty good to kill a few t5 heralds without too much effort. no snders so far of course, but a
Griffon's Eye
dropped from one of the t5 heralds
