No lag during gameplay so far since the update to rotw. However, Ive been experiencing game launcher not launching through the bnet app whenever i click on the launch button.
So somehow game does launch when i looked at task manager proccesses. I had to end task >let launcher reinitialize the launch button again > launch 2nd time seems to work consistently. But yeah this is my only issue that i’m seeing.
This is a little off topic, but I would love to find out what the game does in the background. Normally the game is running fine and CPU is around 70-75 celsius. I have set the game to limit fps to 30 fps when the game is not active (alt tabbed away) and normally runs at 60 fps when active.
The game all of a sudden starts doing something in the background and my CPU heat just increases to 85+ out of nowhere, itll do that for a while then it stops again and goes back to normal.
This is 100% something the game does in there and I would love to know WHAT.
It doesnt matter if im in the lobby, if im in the game of my own or in public. It happens while playing, it happens when not actively playing and just idling.
Ive tried to find info about what could be going around but cant :'(
It just bothers to know that something is going on which makes such toll on the CPU and brings the heat up even though nothing should be going on.
I'm allegedly using my budget work computer so I'm not tracking the heat, but I have noticed that the fans are screaming constantly while D2R is running. I thought it was just because of the PC, guess it's not isolated.
The fans are not loud for no reason. When they are loud, you know something running hot. I just never had the heat going above 85 celsius before which is a little worrying. Why is it so random from time to time do something. Its just weird and there is no explanation to it what so ever. If it was the game just doing its thing, youd think its constantly doing its thing. Instead its every now and then and doesnt matter what the user is doing it just starts heating up the CPU.
Today the lag and rubber banding while teleporting has been bad on the PS5. I think it was fine on PC earlier (I jump back and forth a lot from PS5 to PC for playing and trading).
There were a couple other different days after RotW launched that were also bad lag on PS5, but I’ve actually been surprised how smooth it has mostly been. I switched to a 200 fcr build on my sorc a few days ago to farm keys and statues quicker, and I was shocked that my sorc was teleporting perfectly at 200 fcr online on both PS5 and PC.
But today, I might as well not even have 200 fcr lol the lag is bad, it’s the usual lag for ID’ing and clicking things in stash too.
I noticed now since ROTW that I see almost nightly message on the servers going down. Did not experience this last season (pre-ROTW). I am wondering if there is a bug/Memory leak issue with the servers that require restart. Maybe something else is in play they are not announcing (lol as if Blizzard ever talks to their community).
For me it's really bad and I'm not sure that's about connection.
Since I came back to D2 with rotw i'm having those little game freezes constantly and I learned myself "full rejuv reflex" when they happen.
I was "fortunate" to die to this only few times last couple weeks.
At least my Warlocks have this little weakness I guess. Game lag makes you respec and buy ticket for River of Flame boat-trip.

EU here. What's most frustrating for me is way Herald's are sequential and that when the conection drops and Boots me from a game, it's not rejoinable - progress lost and sometimes items used to get there.
