This was my fault, im new to d2r and made a non ladder character, iv since made Cure in Ladder and it DOES work just fine.
Hey all, just restarted playing D2 again with the new expansion.
Tried to make Cure Runeword in a Crown.
Im on ladder, online, new expansion.
White, NOT superior Helm, 3 sockets.
Shael, Io, Tal.
It has just ended up putting them in like a normal socket, what went wrong? did i miss a limiting factor somewhere that crowns dont count?
Or was it something else?

Can be used to make Runewords:
Weird, do you have a screenshot?
Haven't tried Cure yet myself so can't confirm it isn't broken (still missing a bloody 3s helmet ^^).
But from what you're describing, it sounds like it should've worked.
Crown is a valid base.
Socket count fits.
White, check.
Ladder, check.
Really might need a screenshot to figure this one out.
Obvious guesses would be mixing up the rune order or the disturbingly common (and expensive) mistake of using Lo instead of Io.

My best guess is that you are not on ladder. I haven't heard any news about it not working this season. I am curious though, this is odd. Definitely provide a screenshot if possible!

Actually just stumbled upon a 3s helmet after writing the above and tested it.
Worked for me. So the RW is enabled at least (RotW ladder).

Any idea if those runewords will be available anytime on nonladder?

If they do end up adding more to the game and create some new ladder runewords then they'd probably roll these down to non-ladder as well.
If not, odds are they'll stay ladder exclusive so as to keep people motivated to go there.
