Description

apparently possible, never knew this.

how do you "consent" to this?

Saving your Items
It's possible to consent another player to loot your body. This player must be in the game with you when you consent them to loot your corpse, and they must be in the game when you die.

You enable it on the party screen. The option is only visible on hardcore. You need to enable per party member (it's not party-wide), and you need to re-enable it every time you make/join a game.
It's one-way, so both players need to enable it for both to be able to loot the corpse of the other.

I'm in CET (Central European Time), so that's UTC+1 normally and UTC+2 during DST.
My profile says Ladder, but I play both Ladder and Non-Ladder.
My profile says Softcore, but I play both Softcore and Hardcore.
My Holy Grail Tracker is for Offline Hardcore.

Note you can only loot items from the body and not from their inventory.
