Adding on to the original question: a lot of guides for farming assume you're playing single player and can mess with the players setting (like a COWARD). What are the best strategies for strictly farming online?
Expect to die frequently by strangers in online games no matter how well equipped you are there are too many exploits in public games to Claim safe farming in random players games.
The best strategy is understanding the above and doing the remotest named mobs/field clearing if the rando's are hell bent on finding you they will.
OTHERWISE play with FRIENDS in private games and avoid the random hostilities.
You want to call that cowardice well when the rando joins hops into town after goes agro then everyone suddenly dies to the glitching often enough. You'll find it annoying enough to avoid too

I'm sorry? I have never been killed by anyone in a public game. Whether it was a Baal game, split mf game, or anything else.
(and I don't mean that I'm good at PvP, quite the contrary - I have just never engaged anyone in PvP in a public game because it has never been necessary)
Have you really encountered this a lot?
I'm in CET (Central European Time), so that's UTC+1 normally and UTC+2 during DST.
My profile says Ladder, but I play bothLadder and Non-Ladder.
My profile says Softcore, but I play bothSoftcore and Hardcore.

There's so many things wrong with this statement I dont even know where to begin.

It's not PVP they go hostile then use a kill all glitch/exploit you never see them. was nearly impossible to avoid near the end of D2 original

Again, I have never been killed by a PKer in D2R. Sure, I’ve run into a few trolls who hostile everyone, but nobody has ever actually tried to kill me. That’s why I was surprised at what you wrote. What you’re talking about sounds like something from the D2/LoD days, not D2R.
Yes, I’m aware that this was a thing in D2/LoD, but I have never heard of any exploits like that in D2R, most definitely not anymore (in the past 2.5 years or so). The old PK exploits from D2/LoD have all been fixed as far as I’m aware.

I doubt they've been fixed more like the penalties for glitching commercial servers has just become too risky to do for shits and giggles D2R is in essence the same game with the same glaring swiss cheese code from back in the day, You still crash out because of the post Death graphics for Shenk Blizzard patched Exploits that affected the games economy duping for example stuff that griefed players "That's your problem" was the way they treated them. If you wonder why Many of the people supervising the servers were themselves selling items at the time which brought around rumors that if it wasn't their dupes it'd be hot fixed as soon as they knew about them.

Well, regardless, this isn’t a thing that’s happening in D2R.

Yet this isn’t a thing that’s actually happening in D2R as far as I’m aware. Whether that’s because the exploits are fixed (like I said), or whether the ones who would abuse it are holding back on purpose (like you claim), it’s not a thing that’s happening in D2R. PKing absolutely does happen but not in the way you describe, it’s just the classic tricks like dirty TP, lurking outside town, ambushes, etc. I asked if you have actually encountered these PK exploits in D2R and you haven’t answered. If it hasn’t actually been happening to you or anyone you know, you shouldn’t go around making claims about D2R online multiplayer based on old LoD experiences. Even if a lot of the game at the core is intact, it’s not actually the same game anymore, they have fixed issues both server side and client side.

While admittedly console lobbies are alot more dead than PC, I've also never had this happen.

You ask for proof and just above Timeslayer posted that it's happened to him in D2R a few times which says it still happens so does the list of ways you know rando's PK you listed them in this reply.
No I do not play on Bnet lost all interest in it especially now that I can elevate the player count to increase difficulty without the headaches of getting coordinated with others to get anything done.
I’m pretty sure TimeSlayer only meant regular PKs, not exploiting glitches to “kill all character in the game”. Someone going hostile and then ambushing you for an easy PK is not the same as an exploit, but I’d prefer if @TimeSlayer could clarify what he meant.

What difference does it make what kind of rando Grief you deal with?
sure you're trying to defend that glitching is less now than before but aside from that you haven't proven that random games to MF wont get you attacked in D2R which is a waste of your time vs playing solo or with friends in password games.

I'm not defending any kind of toxic behavior. You're putting words in my mouth. I'm just refuting your statement that if you play online in public games you should "Expect to die frequently by strangers". It's false. You shouldn't expect to die frequently at all. There is no magic button that auto-kills everyone in the game. And if someone hostiles you, you can simply leave the game. That does happen sometimes because there are still trolls and griefers in the game, but nowhere near as common as you're trying to make it out to be. Play offline or solo all you want, but don't spread lies.

yeah i didn't mean about using any glitch/bug. i just meant when someone is being a dic and killing everyone. usually happens when someone is being nice and giving us a rush, and some troll comes in to crash it.

There is no random glitching or power command in D2 where people can auto kill you. Depending on the number of players in a game, and your singular focus on your game, it's possible amid the pandemonium, especially if you have a powerful sound system, to not notice when someone has gone hostile on you, and your char suddenly dies. It might have the appearance of a glitch, but it's just getting caught up in multiplayer confusion. I had it happen to me in a multiplayer game. I strayed to test my Strafezon's Windforce knockback on Baal's hoards at the throne. I never noticed him until I had already killed him. I refused to let him come back and collect his body so he was forced to exit the game. I collected his Ear and then dropped it off in town, and reminded myself while I was exiting the game to pay more attention to messages on my screen.

You're kinda taking your own personal experience/anecdotal evidence here and trying to present it as statistical fact.
Just because something CAN happen does not mean it's a frequent occurrence by any stretch of imagination. And that was the original comment you made, that it was a frequent occurrence.
