Hi,
Did anyone try out A5 dual Plague or A3 single Plague Merc for a self-wielding Infinity sorc?
Both Cleansing aura (she uses ES) and Lower Resist will be nice for her. I will miss Meditation from Insight though ...
Did anyone try this and can share their experiences?

Can be used to make Runewords:

From someone that never tried that combination...
My guess is that it will not trigger Lower Resist very offen...
The play pattern is: you tele walk and kill things with 1-2 casts...
Except against bosses, or open areas full of ranged attacks, I don't expect it to trigger offen

That said, I already saw players preferring Act 5 over Act 2 because he is tanker, faster and "smarter", if you can play without the Act 2 Mer Weapon/aura

Yeah, I thought about that as well. I think it will make a bigger difference in P8 games, where you need more novas. The curse only has a radius of 12 yards, which is only slightly larger than the 8 yards from Nova.fredkid wrote: 2 months agoFrom someone that never tried that combination...

One of the reasons to consider an A3 merc is that I believe the curse is cast around the target, not the attacker. Is this correct?

Hm, I think as a Nova Sorc you can't beat an Insight Merc.
Given the fact that you should use an Energy Shield and that you tele right into the crowd, there's need for a high mana recovery.
A5 Plague Merc is very good for other classes like Magezon, Dragondin/Tesladin, Trapsin or poison builds which either
-have Conviction activated by themselves or simply don't need it
and/or
-need a fast and reliable tank to kill stuff from a distance without being attacked.

Not sure about on struck curses
(Don't remember a case I explicitly tested
)
But generally:
on strike/attack is cast on the monster (like Ice and Lacerator)
and, on struck is cast on you (like Hit Power Ring)

It depends on the skill. According to the Amazon Basin, When Struck casts Necromancer Curses at the attacker (i.e. monster attacking us, not char/merc wearing Plague) location. OTOH, novae are centered on the wearer.
I meat "generally" as a continuation of the previous phrase

The curse is cast on the attacker, what makes it quite useful even in conjunction with Conviction because it kind of "adds range".vued wrote: 2 months agoOne of the reasons to consider an A3 merc is that I believe the curse is cast around the target, not the attacker. Is this correct?
My Dragondin has a Plague Merc. If he gets attacked by, let's say, a group of Wisps, they get cursed quite immediately (sometimes this happens offscreen!) and get killed by my aura really fast. I don't even need to engage them.
Same is for the Confuse proc on a Dream or Mind Blast / Terror on Delirium.
I'd say that it depends entirely on how the skill is used, not on the trigger. Skills that require a target (either a creature or ground, such as missile skills: Fireball, Tornado or targeted AoEs: Meteor, Necro curses) are cast at the attacker, and ones that do not (self-buffs; self-centered AoEs) are cast at the wearer.
Teleport (from The Oculus) is an exception, as it is cast at a random location (read: not the one we wanted :Ь ).
Ive been using dual Plague on act5 on my self wield Infinity Nova sorc for over a yr now snd its been a pleasant experience. It procs more than i expected. My sorc is es Infinity and i dont really have alot of issue of mana regen. If i am in a pinch, i just pop a rejuv potions, since those drops frequently, otherwise, dual Plague merc helps alot in terms of of proccing lower resistance for faster room clearing.
Can trade on PC or SWITCH

Thanks! Sounds like I have to try it, too, then.d2rppa69 wrote: 2 months agoIve been using dual Plague on act5 on my self wield Infinity Nova sorc for over a yr now snd its been a pleasant experience. Do you have any mana boosting gear?

Not really. I wear the common es Nova self wielding Infinity sorc. With enough pts into life, to get you to 700 or so before BO and the of the pts go into mana.vued wrote: 2 months agoThanks! I think the gears for es Nova is flexible, as long as u get 65% fcr for decently cast speed for tele or whichever the value is for 2 handed wielding sorc req, the rest of the gears can be interchanged.
I most common gears on es Nova:
Griff/ Shako
Sojs
Arach
Magefist
Mara/other useful ammy
Viper magi/coh/gladiator bane
Mf Boots with res, wartravs
Overall, just mix and match and have fun trying out diff combos

I use it on a fire-build using Phoenix. No mana problems unless you kill some mobs from time to time.
I like Cleansing even more than Lower Resist. Curses disappear almost immediately.

I have a fire sorc with Phoenix as well. In this setup, Infinity is stronger IMHO. Do you use ES on your fire build?ceving wrote: 2 months agoI use it on a fire-build using Phoenix. No mana problems unless you kill some mobs from time to time.

I use three parts Tal Rasha for -15% and Flickering Flame (sadly only -11%). It may be not the strongest build but it is good enough for me, because no 1/5 handicap is applied to my -54% fire res. I do not need the proc from the merc. It is just a nice add-on for cows.
