I made the change myself and find it totally worth it. But it all depends on your other gear I guess.
Thanks to my Energy Shield and the merc’s Insight, I almost never need potions.
I do lack some FCR to become real fast, as I am still missing some gear, but my clearance speed is still higher than before.

Never tried Nova sorc myself, but from what I read, self use Infinity is the powerfull version 
(buy you have to change some equipment to reach 105% FCR without Spirit - like Skin of the Vipermagi and a fcr Amulet or Ring)

But they say a Nova sorc is still quite weak to deal quickly with main bosses (forget about Ubers). Is it true?
I've never done ubers wity my Nova sorc. I use her mainly to rush, farm essences and keys, since she can move so fast and can clear mobs so quickly.
Every Boss except Baal will melt in no time with proper gear. The problem with Baal is his Blood Mana curse, which is cast if your total mana exceeds your life. The same goes for the way to Baal. Succubi may be present, which also cast the curse. Doing Baal runs is not impossible, tho, i would just prefer other builds for doing it. Self-wield Infinity, Arachnid Mesh, Griffon's Eye, Magefist, 2 10 Caster Amulet, Skin of the Vipermagi make you reach 105 FCR which is max for this build. Then she hits like a truck.

I haven't seen any 2 10 Caster Amulet (let alone 2 20).
Are these rare and expensive?
Lets say I would like a 2 10 with 10+ all resistance, what would I have to pay if someone is trading it?

So a Sorc Caster Amulet with +2 Sorc, 10FCR, and 10 All res will be ~8-10 Jah.

A 3 lightning skills 10 faster cast rate magic amulet is much cheaper and arguably better (more dam, higher ES).
I've got a self Infinity Nova, she's fun AF, my res are not even maxed out and she simply melts down Chaos and throne quicker than my fully equipped hammerdin

Guys what do you use for a swap? Memory if your survival relies on Energy Shield?
