Description

Hi,

Does the Druid benefit from gear IAS after patch 2.4?
I've searched the web and found conflicting reports.

Also, when I use the attack speed calculator, I get these results: What do these numbers mean? For example: 6+(4)+8

edit: The above table is for Fury skill

Thanks.

Yes. The attack speed calculator on this site is a clone of Warren's IAS calculator (https://warren1001.github.io/IAS_Calculator/) which was made specifically for D2R 2.4 and is updated up to 2.6 (the last patch that had any effect on IAS for any skill, I think). For Fury: Skill in particular, Warren's comment is "All Wereform skills have undergone basic testing and should be correct." This means that the basic testing was done in patch 2.4+.

These numbers mean that the first attack in the Fury sequence takes 6 frames, the final attack takes 8 frames, and all the attacks in the middle take 4 frames each. If you have a 5-attack Fury, then that means the whole Fury sequence takes 6+4+4+4+8 = 26 frames, which is equal to 5.2 attacks per second.

So you see, if you reach a breakpoint that drops the middle number then that actually cuts the whole attack sequence by 3 frames (assuming a 5-attack Fury), whereas if only the first or last number drops then the whole sequence is only shortened by 1 frame.

I should correct one part of my answer - Warren started working on the calc before 2.4. The commit history traces back to December 2021, D2R released in September 2021 and patch 2.4 launched in April 2021, so he started working on it in between launch and 2.4. His own change log only traces back to 2.4 changes though, which is when I guess he went public with it maybe? Not very important though I guess. It was still made specifically for D2R, and is up-to-date with all D2R changes (barring any undiscovered bugs).

And on that note, I noticed that he's still updating it, last a minor bug fix 3.5 weeks ago. @Teebling do you keep an eye on updates so you can update diablo2.io's clone as well?
