Uber Baal, Zeal and Prevent Monster Heal

Hi everybody

today I had the first chance to test my new Zealer Pally with Ubers when I helped two people with them.
Meph and Diablo I got down really quickly. But despite using Grief, Baal healed himself that quickly that I could not take him down with Zeal. After a painful long time I reluctantly switched to Smite and then he went down comparatively quick as well.

My question therefore is: Is prevent monster heal not working on the Ubers or Baal specifically or what do you think went wrong?

I have 35% OW, 50% CB and 84% DS

Prevent monster heal do not work on ubers.

Use Open Wounds.

You may use Poison Damage too, but Grief has a Venom: Skill trigger which cuts the poison length overall...

Yeah, I experienced that

But what about Open Wounds? Does this not apply also?

I think the major problem was that we were three players which caused Baal to constantly Teleport around and therefore I surely often did not hit him again whithin eight seconds for Open Wounds to constantly apply... I HATE using Smite...

As you have open wounds... The problem may be just RND... (You are not triggering OW fast enough)

Remember that as Zeal has hit chance and may be blocked ( Uber Baal has high block chance)

Try Smite (as it always hit and cannot be blocked)

Yes, and as I said in my last post, I think the problem was that he was teleporting around, therefore constantly "escaping" my Open Wounds...
Next time I try bringing him down SP with Zeal. This HAS to work!

Try having Charge ready on switch, that way you can attack pretty much to anywhere you can see very rapidly, and at the same time close to Smite / Zeal range again.

Probably the problem was really the constant Teleport...

I forgot that I've done Ubers a few times with my Fury Druid using Dracul's Grasp, and ubers' healing was no issue to me.
( Fury: Skill is similar to Zeal and 25% Open wounds is less then you have)

So in normal situations you should have no problem with Zeal and some Open wounds

I used Dracul's Grasp, too... Btw, I just noticed that I even had forgotten to use my CTA

Just to reemphasize fredkid's point, Uber Baal has a 55% block chance, and he is also lvl110 with high defense, making him hard to hit too. So even at best, your overall hit chance with Zeal is already pretty low

If you are low level and low AR, your chance to hit will be even worse. Maybe Demon Limb could help if you aren't using already. It can also be eye-opening to see how many of your hits miss or block by turning on the "miss indicator" in the game options

Yes, I thought so, too. I am at lvl 93, my AR is at 7367 (ca. 400 below the "best case value" at Maxroll) and I have a Merc with Infinity. Nonetheless, it seems I maybe still miss too often...
