To me, I dont like Dusk Shroud simply because the looks of it, haha, put it on a necro and him would look like a homeless hobo on char selection screen.
Apart from all the things mentioned, Mageplate do look nicer compare with the Dusk Shroud, at least in my eyes.

The reason I would never even think of using Shako
20 years ago when I played LOD and for the first time a saw a Shako my first thought was "Are they kidding me? Who on earth made this design decision?"

Funny enough, I go out of my way to kit my necros with Dusk Shrouds. Same with sorcs. I like the minimalist aesthetic. For the rest of the fashion-souls lineup, Barbs, Zons, Sins, and Druids get Wire Fleece. Pallys get a Great Hauberk. But I only go out of my way for Necro & Sorc.

I kinda prefer the Dusk Shroud look on barbarian versus the armored look, but man oh man does the necro look terrible with that armor. I’d sooner delete him than equip a necro with a Dusk Shroud.
