Not sure if there was a thread for it, but it Would be awesome if Blizzard figured something like that out. But maybe in another patch they can do it for all 4 diablo games on one site.

Not exactly what was asked for (I don't control the game code), but there is now (as of diablo2.io v1.50) optical character recognition (OCR) on all trade screenshots uploaded. It will automatically detect text in the screenshot and paste it into your listing for you. It's mostly accurate but still needs a review to fix certain words the OCR misses or mis-interprets.
If only Blizzard looked at this site, there are tons of ideas for them, lots of them being good...
