Iron Golem - budget Set/Uniques that worth to spend on it

I know that we can make good (and expensive)

Iron Golem from Runeword with Auras.

And I'm aware that

Iron Golem from magic/rare item is normally crap (forums/can-iron-golem-from-a-good-magic ... 36657.html)

My question is: are there some budget Set/Uniques that worth spending on an

Iron Golem?
(ie. itens that will make it better than a

Clay Golem)

Currently I trying a Golem made of a

Woestave but I'm not very confiant..

I will try a

Tiamat's Rebuke after ... (just because dropped one and would sell it...)

For budget I usually just use an Insight. But since you specified uniques,

Windhammer or

Bloodtree Stump are solid choices. Generally you want to focus on Crushing Blows or similar modifiers as Iron Golems are locked into there attack speed modifier regardless of what weapon you use.

On this Crushing Blows vibe

Immortal King's Stone Crusher drops considerable (drop for me more than any Exceptional and some normals...)

Heard of Kelpie's Snare for the slow too.

Upped

Bonesnap if you want good resistances + Crushing Blow. With 60 all res from Resist All IG is immune to lightning and poison.

Bonesnap itself has 30 fire/cold res.

Technically if you wanted something useful from a unique item you could try medusa’s gaze, it has the slowing effect and casts

Lower Resist when struck…

The

Griswold shield might be ok if you put something good in it’s sockets

Maybe

Tal’s armour too. I think IG’s are immune to poison, so it’s got good def, res and magic find (although you’d be hard pressed to get your IG to actually kill stuff)

There’s potentially a few good weapons, anything with crushing blow, life leach, increased attack speed, cast important skills on striking or being struck, some even have resistances too. If you wanted to you could socket the item and stick something old into it (15 ias/15all res - but that’s starting to get expensive).

I agree with the previous authors, especially with Insight,

Windhammer,

Bloodtree Stump,

Immortal King's Stone Crusher, Kelpie's Snare,

Bonesnap
but add in list:
1. Lawbringer
gives you Level 16-18

Sanctuary Aura When Equipped
and
20% Chance To Cast Level 15

Decrepify On Striking (area 4 yards its norm not very good but ok )
2. Hustle (weapon if you play ladder)
3. Voice of Reason fun too
4. Obedience
5.

Viperfork (15% Chance To Cast Level 9

Poison Explosion On Striking)

this is true, especially if it can simply be given to a mercenary with the same result

My choice is Hustle. Very useful with Fanat aura even if it's lvl 1 and cheap.

I could also see a

Bul-Kathos' Sacred Charge being a decent choice, between the CB, IAS, and AR.

Crushflange sports 33% CB, 50% fire resist (likely an immunity after factoring in

Summon Resist) and Knockback

I have some but not sure whether to trade. I guess I could only trade one in

Giant Axe but not sure about the price ofc.
