Let‘s give it up for Lut Gholein

Let‘s take a break from all the farming, laddering, holygrailing etc and take a moment to appreciate the beauty of

Lut Gholein. Seriously, do you stop every once in a while to look around?

The desert setting is by far my favourite act. The level design simply makes it beautiful.

I also like the Stampfer setting of act 3!

What about you? Can you still appreciate the beauty after >20 years of playing?

Acts 2 and 3 are beautiful each on its own. I like act 3, this once great city that fell under corrupted influence of

Mephisto but still shows remains of its former greatness. I also love Act 2, the desert has its own unique atmosphere of mystery, this is what I love in this game the most.

Some of the act 3 details esp the kurast temples are fantastic.

Still my fav act.

Act 2 is a close second...did you know that foot prints appear on the sand? I didn't notice until 1 day...

It was also a beautiful view after hitting level 99 in season 1.



Since I don't play with the in-game musical score, I can say that

Lut Gholein has my pick for the best ambient sounds of any of the towns. Also,

Atma's Tavern is the only place in the game where there's regular townsfolk just hanging out.

This game would have been much more exciting and video capture worthy if you could.

I'll sort of give D3 some points there with regard to the ragdoll physics on death for monsters which I think included them going off cliffs or edges, but it wasn't very memeable for the most part.

Would add the

Cathedral in act 1, the Harem and Arcane in act 2.

Since we're talking about the art in this game, the harem and palace cellar have the best music imo.

Palace / Harem BGM in Act 2 is #1 for me too. .

of course nothing beats D1 Dungeon /

And those weird shadows...

By the by did you guys notice the slight perspective effect, from the legacy options? They turned it down a notch compared to OG but it's there, visible in modern graphics too.

As setting 640x480 for legacy zooms the game in modern also.

Took me a long time to notice these possibilities, and they're a bit hidden under the Legacy category, so I figured I'll mention it.
