One of my strategies for them is to take away my merc's weapon, put it in my cube, buy a

Teleport charges staff, then run through the dg. When a pack starts coming towards me, let merc engage, then

Teleport past them. It works pretty well! Sewers is nice because you can usually put a river between you and them. Durance is less so, but once you find Durance 2 WP you can reroll durance until you are doll free.

I've been thinking about this. Beyond just bravely running away (by save & quitting), my only strategy has been to hide behind the merc and spend all my money reviving him when he inevitably dies. Not very sophisticated either way

Had a week off after my latest Death, trying a summon druid this time in the hope that slow and steady does the trick.

I am not HC but as a necro player, most of the thing consists in having a meat (well, Bone) shield of skellies +

Bone Armor recasted often. And full rejuvs ready.
