How many of you found high runes on solo?

All my HR have been solo bnet runs:
Meph Chest: Lo
Nhil: Ber
Cows: Sur, Ber
Chaos: Sur
Matrons Den: Sur
Worldstone Keep: Vex

would you guys recommend doing countess runs or all bosses rounds? I think the calculations is mass numbers+probability.
so is meph, or nhil, or worldstone have better success rates than say countess or trav?

No the rates are the same. I just meanI value survival much higher than the average softcore player, and that I periodically lose all my gear.

my highest is Sur and Ohm all from Durance 2 and 3 but thats where I run the most so I'd say just pick some place to farm, I got a cute skiller from LK the other day so I traded a Sur+ Ist and cube my first Ber

I haven’t done countess runs after starting trav runs. I had done a lot for keys, was lucky to find one Lo. Otherwise maybe one Mal. My rune luck with her was terrible, and Lo is as good as she gets and like most things it’s like a small lottery win. I’d try elsewhere unless you’re Key farming.

I think about it like this. How many countess runs do you need to find 25-35 Ist runes? Because that is how many you’d need to match the value of finding a single Ber or Jah elsewhere. Either way it ends up being more time and determination than luck, but elsewhere you can also find items to trade for runes too.

I play 99% solo. Highest rune I found was a Sur in cows. I also got 2x Ohms, one from cows, one from Pindle (Gasp! He still does Pindle Runs! What was the life like during The War old man?). I also got a Vex from a Carver on the way to Countess, and probably 3 Guls.

In terms of "worth it", hard to quantify as so much is based on your Faith in RNGesus. I mean, the one SoJ I found was in Act 1, on a Countess run...in Nightmare mode.

i would say 50/50 solo or public cow games and i found Jah Ber Sur 2 Ohm in Arcane Sanctuary (cow runs) only. highest rune in single player was an Ist in pits.

I'd say both work well but technically trav has better rates. I do recommend countess tho bc you get more immediate gratification, and sometimes that's what you need to keep motivated

Considering HR as Ohm+ - i only found Sur from Meph.
From usable runes there also was a Gul, Ist, 2 Mals, 1 Um and a number of Puls since D2R start.
All Players 1.

My harvest:

Solo
- Jah, Ber (Cows)
- Sur (Treasure behind Meph)
- Vex, Ohm, Cham (HC)
- another Vex random anywhere

Multi
- nothing ... but I saw a Jah, Lo and Ohm dropping, but was not fast enough to loot it

In multiplayer games, I have experienced that it is ultra hard to get loot. Everything is about speed and that honestly stresses me out. Many rush through the maps, missing half the mobs and being very selfish.

In solo mode, I can go at my own pace. Even if the drop chance is lower, the chance of getting loot is higher.

In the last 3 days I got Cham and Ohm in Arcane Sanctuary while trying to get the Key of Hate.

Also got Lo from chest behind Mephisto, Vex in Throne of Destruction, also got Sur, Gul, Um (several), Ist and 2 Ohm in Travincal, Gul from Pindleskin, Zod from Eldrich before.

All in solo except Vex that was with 2 players in game considering me.

Solo:
3 Ist (2 Countess Key runs, 1 Trav)
1 Gul ( Nihlathak Key runs)
1 Vex (Trav)
1 Ohm (Trav)
2 Cham (Trav)
But I have found a few items worth big HRs, so I feel like it evens out. All trav runs were done on my Frenzy horker barb, all Key runs on my meteorb sorc.

Solo:
2 Jah (Trav)
1 Sur (Trav)
1 Cham (Pindle)

I run Trav a lot with my hammerdin.

Solo only, P1, on a variety of characters because I'm an altoholic --

1 Zod from Halls of Vaught trash
1 Cham from ghost in Arcane Sanctuary
1 Ber from trash in the Pit
1 Lo from Elite Stranglers in Chaos Sanctuary
1 Ohm from ghost in Arcane Sanctuary
1 Vex from trash Vampire in Durance 3
1 Gul from under a rock

I've done a lot of cows vs Necro and trav vs Horker too, but on P1 the best I've seen is Um from cows and nada in Trav.

all solo on bnet except one Sur from Trav

I found few Ohm runes, Zod, Cham, Jah, Ber in Ballruns, Chaos runs and pits. All p1 on bnet

So here's my math

If there are 400 cows in a cow run, here are the amount of runs on average to find the following rune, OR HIGHER:

Pul: 61
Um: 77
Mal: 93
Ist: 117
Gul: 142
Vex: 184
Ohm: 228
Lo: 304
Sur: 393
Ber: 580
Jah: 851
Cham: 1773
Zod: 6402

In the same way, as there are 4 real high council members in a Trav run, here are the amount of runs to find any rune or a higher rune:

Pul: 710
Um: 892
Mal: 1077
Ist: 1364
Gul: 1660
Vex: 2153
Ohm: 2685
Lo: 3629
Sur: 4741
Ber: 7181
Jah: 10934
Cham: 26259
Zod: 400137

IE if you do 2153 runs, you're likely to find a Vex rune or higher.

I have a feeling I might have missed something. My math goes like this:

I've checked the GGmaxroll chance to drop the runes above for a real high Council Member (like Ismail), then I multiplied that chance by 4, since there are 4 real high council members. I then added the whole column from Pul to Zod up and got a one in 710 chance to drop a Pul or higher. I then added the whole column up, excluding Pul, and got a one in 892 chance to drop an Um or higher. Then I went all the way up to Zod and there we go.

What annoys me about this calculation is that I read a post by some guy who found a high rune every 400-500 runs. He had done thousands of runs so I kinda feel like his math is repeatable.

Obviously, cow runs are better per run, but you can do trav runs much faster, and with a larger variety of characters.
