My 1st high rune ever... but also my d2 story

I know there's a topic "You got lucky, tell us about it here", but this is a bit more than lucky for me.

I played Diablo 1, Diablo 2, LoD as a teenager mostly as a Pally. Back then there were very few if any resources online to look up builds, items or runes. So I did none of that. And even if there were I was on dial-up, so if I could spend 30-45 min a day online I'd use it for d2 PvP
That was my main focus, I wanted to play vs other players, so I put most of my points in Charge. Needless to say, this wasn't very efficient for leveling, but I didn't know any better. Also, and I could be wrong here, but I don't think there were respec options back then.

I found an acient armor with 1 socket... or maybe I Larzuked it when LoD came out. I didn't know how Defence works, so I thought this must be the best armor ever, I just need to put a Pul rune in it to get even greater defence values
I joined a clan... I think it was called Brogherhood of Steel [BoS]. The leader was a Barb level close to 90 I think. It was the highest level out of everyone in the clan
When he gave me the Pul rune I almost lost my mind. I though, "OK, now I'm invincible!"

Had to stop playing due to exams, than I went to a university and also played other games. Came back briefly after they launched d2r, but didn't stick too long. Played coop with my sona bit, which is a crazy experiance (but he's not that into it). I really came back after they released RotW... well, actually after the DLC went on sale, becasue I though it wasn't worth it at the original price. I finished the game as a Warlock. I got hooked again. Started other classes and finished the game and farmmed with 2 other ones - Sorc and Javazon. Started other classes as well.

I played a few h a day, for a few months but in all this time I never ever found a high rune. Did a lot of Cow runs with the Sorc and Javazon and still nothing.

Until today. Today on the was to get Wirt's Leg in Tristram a Ber rune dropped from a random monster in Tristram!!! I guess it could have been a champion pack, not sure. All this time and it finally happened!
So I went here to see what I can make with it only to realize that you need other high runes to make anything decent

I don't know if I have it in me to farm for a Jah rune. GGs
