Sad reality, but Blizz already have our money, why would they dedicate more resource on something that doesn't net them profit anymore.
I think its clear that this D2 things was to get those 20 year ago players back online. The money comes when those guys buy D4.
Maybe someone can share the players number of D2, D3 over time? I would guess that D2 was a real success story. Getting people hyped again, making adjustments to D4 and selling it to old D2 players will make a bang.
In case of playing ladder. Don't have the time really. But will make a new build I haven't played although no mf grinding probably.

none to be honest, its for the streamers, I have a life outside of the game so I'm rather annoyed by this reset mentality.
Oh, it's not just for the streamers! It is also for the 20-50ish people who grind 18 hours a day in full 8 player rooms that have a shot at being in the Top 10. Besides, SOMEONE has to win the ladder, and it could be any of us*!
*The likelihood of winning Ladder is inversely proportional to the amount of time spent doing anything other than playing Diablo. This includes using the bathroom. Those seriously considering attempting to be at the top are reminded that being at the top sometimes requires crapping in a bucket under one's chair.
Motivation? Not being a beta and a snowflake makes me playing on Ladder ONLY since... always.
And yes, we're old/older now, we have wifes, kids and tons of responsibilities but still, I would never consider being a "filthy casual" playing non-ladder, disgusting! Buahahahah >:)
