Description

I was wondering about rune prices. I did see a post on here that was helpful but what about lower runes like a
Fal
or
Ko
? How many of these would I need to equal an
Ist
? Or maybe equal like a
Pul
to work my way up the ladder toward
Ist
? My point is I'm trading lots of items for runes but I don't know if selling stuff for a
Fal
or
Ko
is even worth it unless I need that rune for something?

Can be used to make Runewords:

Anything for a
Pul
I've offered x2
Fal
and usually get.
Ko
can get some low stuff, like I bought a pair of 31% chances with a
Ko
. Mid runes are a niche market cause some runewords use them and a few cube recipes. Best bet and what I do with them is upgrade them. Do normal cows and collect chipped and flawed gems and just keep pumping them up to
Pul
then sell the puls

Xbox GT: Cinomed541 add me if you need someone to play with.

Ko
/
Fal
/
Lem
are the minimum currency runes for stuff that's worth basically nothing. They can drop from Countess on Hell, too, so they're not really rare. Just cube them once you have too many.

Not that what I do is by any means the best way to do it, but
Lum
is the lowest rune I consider trading an item for. If it's worth less than a
Lum
, I don't consider it worth my time. So I guess
Lum
is what I'd consider the first "mid-rune" in my world, I consider
Lum
,
Ko
,
Fal
, and
Lem
lower-mid runes. I cube:

Lum
->
Ko
->
Fal
->
Lem

I stop cubing up at
Lem
because to cube up to a
Pul
it requires 3x
Lem
and you can easily trade 2x
Lem
for a
Pul
in public games, I do it all the time.
Pul
,
Um
,
Mal
,
Ist
,
Gul
is what I personally consider "high-mid runes". You'll start to build those up by cubing up the lower mid-runes and then from there you can start to work your way into the actual high rune territory.

Again, totally my approach but figured I'd share.

I almost never cube up my
Lum
/
Ko
/
Fal
. They're best for low value offers, or trading for Pgems. You can usually get about 3-5 Pgems for them. Trade those Pgems in for a
Lem
-
Pul
and you can build some Wealth. It takes 3 Lums to cube up to 1
Ko
. Those three
Lum
are worth as much as 9 Pgems, while that one
Ko
is worth probably 4 PGems.

I also don't recommend cubing
Lem
. 2
Lem
are equal to a
Pul
value, while it takes 3
Lem
to cube up to a
Pul
. Honestly, I don't recommend cubing anything above
Lum
. Cubing
Io
to
Lum
is fine, but
Hel
is worth more than
Io
.

To answer your question directly, you would need about 25-40
Lum
/
Ko
/
Fal
to equal an
Ist
, but not many people would ever want to do that trade.

If you offer what I am asking, add me on battle.net for a quicker trade. I'll see the notification instantly if I'm available.

According to Morphin's Rune Guide that everyone uses,
Lem
= 1/12th
Ist
. And
Fal
and
Ko
are lower so you'd need like 20+ of them to equal an
Ist
. The Trade Value Guides for 2021 also has a mid-low rune section to give a general idea of value

Honestly I'm even not that "rich", but I don't bother selling anything for less than a
Pul
, or maybe
Lem
depending on my mood.

If something is below a
Lem
, I'll usually just create a "free <insert item>" game and leave it on the floor while I farm.

Just by cubing, you would need 3 (
Lum
to
Ko
) x 3 (
Ko
to
Fal
) x 3 (
Fal
to
Lem
) x 3 (
Lem
to
Pul
) = 81 Lums to make a
Pul
. Keep in mind a
Pul
is 1/6th of an
Ist
, so by virtue a
Lum
is worth 1/486 (0.2%) of an
Ist
.

Even if it's just a few minutes, it's not worth my time to add someone's battletag, exchange messages, coordinate with them to meet in a game, then trade the item for 1/81st or honestly even 1/9th of a
Pul
.

Lem
is where is gets debatable - for 1/3rd to half of a
Pul
, I'd probably be willing to make the effort.

But this is also just my personal perspective.

Yeah I get where you're coming from. Your "free <insert item>" games sound like my "<insert item> for
Lum
" games... I create those and just MF in them. I very rarely ever list anything on this site that I expect less than a
Lem
for. I should have clarified that.
7
Thats what I used to do but Lems are decently used for some end game items I've seen on xbox. Lots of people making a gold find barb and stick lems in everything.

Xbox GT: Cinomed541 add me if you need someone to play with.
7
I don't even pick lower rune then
Pul
(unless it is necessary for runeword)

And it's just a time waste to sell items for lower then
Pul
7
A lot of people don't, so makes room for them to sell when you need a runeword. It's like PGemz I don't pick up crap unless I need it, other people stock pile them and now make a
Pul
off me when I want to reroll stuff. Everything's got a price and can be a hassle just depends on how hard you wanna grind. Only runes I keep are rals and the Insight ones. Find
Eth
Polearms all the time and slap some sockets in there make Insight sell on another forum for at least x2
Ist

Xbox GT: Cinomed541 add me if you need someone to play with.
