Use them on NL.
Give them away.
Sell them on NL to then buy L runes with the NL ones.
Or just let them rot on un-used chars and eventually join the folks complaining about lack of char slots.

Do people really trade NL runes for L runes ?
Not too many but some, yeah. Primarily those who merely use ladder as a farming spot for their NL Wealth, seeing how the exchange rate is pretty good (around 2:1 for most of the season, dropping later on, far higher in the first few days/couple weeks).
Or you can just play NL. After all, it's the same game except for the few latest runewords and you know you have wayyyy more time.
